Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

When does the predicter get rolled out,, is it this week or next
Why would the predictor get put out after all of the games have been played and the field has been decided?

It will get rolled out Thursday night at the latest, if not at some point this week after tonight's WI-CC game is over.

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

This is the only thing keeping me going right now. I still feel like I just got the wind knocked out of me with Union's loss tonight though. It's ****ing devastating.

Same way I felt when Brown knocked off Yale last year, think of it as a well earned rest.
I don't dare mention this in the Union thread but you guys need to start a new thread with a new title, the Atlantic City reference is a little dated ;) Good luck the rest of the way and may Yale and Union meet in St Paul! NOT Bridgeport Priceless!

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Be glad it's a transparent process, unlike the smoky room we're going to see tonight when the bouncyball brackets are announced.

There must have been something funky in the smoke based on some of the teams that were selected over some of the teams that were not.

Yep. Pretty **** sketchy. Colorado and Virginia Tech got screwed in favor of VCU and UAB.

BU still is not dead.
CC loss to UAA + (Western loss *2) + (Dartmouth loss *2) + cut line at 15 = BU in
This also gets BU in

I have the UNO-WMU comparison going to UNO, giving them 16 comparison wins (and 13th place) with WMU only having 14 comparison wins and dropping them to 17th place, putting Rensselaer in the tournament.

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Yes.

Quick answer: Have UND lose Friday night and BC win Hockey East.

Edit: BC can get the overall #1 if:
BC wins the Hockey East championship;
Colgate beats Union, then beats Yale in AC;
North Dakota loses Friday.

They need a perfect storm.

Sweet, I found a way BC could become #1 overall even while losing in the HE Semis.

These results:
Atlantic Hockey

* Semifinal #2: Air Force defeats Holy Cross
* Semifinal #1: RIT defeats Connecticut
* Championship game: RIT defeats Air Force

CCHA

* Semifinal #2: Miami defeats Notre Dame
* Semifinal #1: Michigan defeats Western Michigan
* Championship game: Michigan defeats Miami
* Consolation game: Notre Dame defeats Western Michigan

ECAC

* Semifinal #2: Dartmouth defeats Cornell
* Semifinal #1: Colgate defeats Yale
* Championship game: Dartmouth defeats Colgate
* Consolation game: Yale defeats Cornell

Hockey East

* Semifinal #2: Merrimack defeats New Hampshire
* Semifinal #1: Northeastern defeats Boston College
* Championship game: Merrimack defeats Northeastern

WCHA

* Play-in #2: Minnesota-Duluth defeats Bemidji State
* Play-in #1: Colorado College defeats Alaska-Anchorage
* Semifinal #2: Minnesota-Duluth defeats Denver
* Semifinal #1: North Dakota defeats Colorado College
* Championship game: Minnesota-Duluth defeats North Dakota

Gives us BC at 1, Yale at 2, UND at 3 and Merrimack at 4.

I love playing around with this stuff every year!

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

* Semifinal #1: Northeastern defeats Boston College

Great believer in your team! I would let Yale be number one before losing HE, just be happy that you are a lock number one.

Are trying to troll or something? BC is going to steam roll this weekend and further. Just playing with the predictor. Is that a sin?

Get lost.

UNH ends 14th, with BSU, RIT, and NU all taking away at-large bids. FWIW, I get the same result (with regards to UNH's placement, anyways) even if CC doesn't advance past UAA, let alone beat NoDak. This is just one example of multiple similar iterations.

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Didn't see it posted, so this is what things would look like right now:

Bridgeport:

1. Yale
2. Merrimack
3. Notre Dame
4. RIT

Green Bay:

1. North Dakota
2. Minnesota-Duluth
3. Western Michigan
4. Dartmouth

Manchester:

1. BC
2. Denver
3. UNH
4. CC

St. Louis:

1. Michigan
2. Miami
3. Union
4. Nebraska-Omaha

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

UNO and Notre Dame out
The "ND out" scenario requires the following features:
* WMU wins the CCHA and ND loses the consolation game
* Bemidji wins the WCHA, and CC loses to UAA in their play-in—if CC wins OR if UAA wins the title, RPI is behind the Irish
* Northeastern wins Hockey East and someone other than Yale wins the ECAC

Outside those constraints, it doesn't matter what happens, ND will end up 13th with four non-at-large-quality autobids.
