Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

That bracket has some of things that the committee <em>does not do</em>. In particular, they consider a team's seeding band to be sacrosanct. Nebraska-Omaha is a #3, UNH is a #4, and that's not going to change.

NOTHING is sacrosanct with the NC$$, with the exception of money. :p:rolleyes:

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Bridgeport
1. Yale vs. 4. Air Force
2. Union vs. 3. Minnesota-Duluth

St. Louis
1. Miami vs. 4. Nebraska-Omaha
2. Merrimack vs. 3. Notre Dame

Manchester
1. Boston College vs. 4. Colorado College
2. Michigan vs. 3. UNH

Green Bay
1. North Dakota vs. 4. RPI
2. Denver vs. 3. Western Michigan

I would switch Denver with Merrimack, so that the two WCHA teams that played 2 OT's not have to possibly face each other again until the FF.

I agree with you on switching #4 UNH with #3 UNO. I know that goes against the "bracket integrity" argument, but let's face it, how much difference is there, really, between #12 and #13 in the PWR. If you look at the individual comparison between UNO and UNH, they are tied with 1 comparison each, but UNH has a higher RPI. I would make the switch to keep ALL the #1 seeds in the regions where they come from. This rewards the fans of those schools in that they don't have to travel as far to see their team. I think they have earned that right. :)

We will see what the committee does at 11:30 AM Sunday. ;)

That's what I'm holding out hope for....

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Yale's in Bridgeport, period. Zero chance they go anywhere else.

Bad goof on that one!

Bridgeport: Yale/Air Force, Union/UMD
Manchester: Miami/New Hampshire, Merrrimack/Notre Dame
Green Bay: N. Dakota/ RPI, Denver/W. Michigan
St. Louis: BC/CC, Michigan/UNO

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Is the cut-off exactly 400 miles? Looks like Western would be just over that threshold to St. Louis, but only by about 20 miles.

WMU is 398.36 miles from the venue in St. Louis.

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

If the NCAA switches the UNO/UNH banding they may as well allow a UNH/BC and UND/CC first round game because they will have thrown their rules out the window. Hell, they may as well put Wisconsin in the field and make them a de facto host in Green Bay.

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Had the committee not changed the rule regarding TUC, Dartmouth would be in the field and RPI would be at home.

Code:
1	Yale (EC)	24
2	Boston Coll (HE)23
3	No Dakota (WC)	22
4	Miami (CC)	21
5	Merrimack (HE)	19
6	Michigan (CC)	18
7	Denver U (WC)	18
8	Union (EC)	17
9	MinnDuluth (WC)	16
10	NE-Omaha (WC)	15
11	Western (CC)	14
12	Notre Dame (CC)	13
13	New Hamp (HE)	11
14	Dartmouth (EC)	11
15	CO College (WC)	10
23	Air Force (AH)	2

Along with having only 3 regionals and giving the Gophers a bye to the Frozen Four. :p:D:D

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

This is my revised prediction for Miami staying at home in St. Louis. I could see the committee maybe swapping Michigan into the Green Bay bracket if they think UNO and Miami are enough to carry St. Louis and Green Bay needs help.

<b>Bridgeport</b>
1. Yale
7. Denver
10. Western Michigan
16. Air Force

<b>Manchester</b>
2. North Dakota
6. Merrimack
11. Notre Dame
13. New Hampshire

<b>Green Bay</b>
3. Boston College
8. Union
9. Minnesota-Duluth
15. Rensselaer

<b>St. Louis</b>
4. Miami
5. Michigan
12. Nebraska-Omaha
14. Colorado College

Code:
[B]Bridgeport	Manchester	St Louis	Green Bay[/B]
Yale North Dakota	Miami Boston Coll
Union Merrimack	Denver Michigan
W Michigan	UNO Notre Dame	UMD
Air Force	UNH RPI CC

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

Wow. The NCAA chose bracket integrity over money...kudos.

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

No offense to you, but I don't see how your predicted bracket maximizes attendance more than what the committee is currently doing.

You think Western Michigan and Denver are going to bring as many fans to Green Bay as Michigan and UMD?

Re: Too early for the PWR? Princeton and Brown say no!

So far Wodon has been the closest.

Isn't Moy perfect so far? Wodon has Merrimack in St. Louis with BC...don't see that happening.

You think Western Michigan and Denver are going to bring as many fans to Green Bay as Michigan and UMD?

I think the combination of UND, DU and Western Michigan will bring more fans than the combination of BC, Michigan and UMD.

Looks like Moy got this spot on (as I suspected).

My original bracket was UND, Michigan and UMD in Green Bay. That would have maximized attendance. Oh well.
