Tickets to FF?

Re: Tickets to FF?

A pass out with readmission was available between games this time. Last time if you left the building even to go to the lobby you were out for good. Well!

Well this time it was a beautiful spring day in Minnesota, I went outside.

While I was outside I had three different gentlemen wave a wad of tickets in front of me asking if I was interested. I am in favor of unrestricted commercial activity of this sort, I was not offended, I was also not interested. I had a ticket. But my point is that I personally observed a couple of dozen tickets for the semi-finals still available outside the arena after the first semi-final.

I think tomorrow might be a different situation. Lots of wannabe there Gopher fans are likely to cruise on down and see if maybe, just maybe, they can score admission for a reasonable price. With willing sellers and willing buyers placed in close proximity it seems possible that a lively market may emerge.

Or maybe not. Weather predictions are for not as nice a day tomorrow as we had yesterday. Do you want to stand in rain turning to snow conditions to bargain with a scalper?

I do think though that the highly motivated on both sides are likely to do okay tomorrow. The scalpers will make some money and the people who absolutely have to be inside for this game will be able to get tickets.

Re: Tickets to FF?

All interesting comments; thanks for the replies.

A little surprised to hear about the soft demand on the street, but I probably shouldn't be. For much the Women's Hockey fanbase, dealing with scalpers -- or even ticket brokers -- isn't the usual experience. When all the information available indicates a hard sellout, many probably gave up with out ever going to Ridder.

Another factor is that there just weren't that many tickets on the secondary market back in 2013. That year the large majority of ticketholders were ticket users. Significant involvement of scalpers was likely a new thing this time. Understandable that many potential attendees would not have been aware that getting in was a real possibility.

Keep those reports coming; will be interested to hear how things go today.
