Tickets to FF?

Re: Tickets to FF?

they may have a policy but , no as a practical matter
you should be able to sit wherever you want unless the ticket holder shows up
This might be totally outdated information but I had standing room tickets for the regional when BC was out there several years ago, I did stand up at the railing because I liked the view, but like most places I've found that if you just kind of squat in seats after 15 minutes or so that no one is using, then you're good.

Re: Tickets to FF?

Anything I buy of stubhub within 1 weeks of the event, I would only buy electronic downloadable option tickets.

There are no downloadable tickets available. They must not have done any kind of print at home option, so Stubhub can't offer it.

As I suspected, nearly all of the tickets for Friday are now off of Stubhub.

I also think the scalpers might have overestimated what fans are willing to pay as the prices seem to be ticking down a bit. One of the craigslist ads from earlier selling a pair to the Championship game for $150, saying "will not negotiate" has dropped his price to $100.

Re: Tickets to FF?

This is not very well thought out teams could easily be allocated a few hundred seats that could be turned back to the general public at the last minute if not sold by the school. This is a nice problem to have and maybe unique to Ridder but it is hear again in 2 years so they can fix it for next time.To be honest it would be better if the fans were consolidated into a cheering section anyway rather then scattered around the arena.

Keep in mind that you have to have bids from places that want to host the tournament. Host schools probably like the fact that there are a lot of locals showing up. It may not be high on the list of priorities they have when making bids, but it's there. Given that one of the reasons it's back at Ridder in three years is that there were only four schools that bid to host the next four Frozen Fours and one of them is, for a couple of reasons, extremely unlikely to win their bid. Right now, the NCAA's focus has to be on making it more appealing to host, not on which fans get in.

Ok I did it! I'll be out in Minneapolis with an SRO ticket for both sessions - hopefully it'll be easy to get a seat at least for the BC-Harvard semi and then the championship.

woo hoo! very excited.

Not to rain on the parade, but last time I was at Ridder for the F4 I was shooting along the rail in an assigned area. I was right next to the aisle and the ushers were not letting anyone into the section unless they had a ticket for that section.

Seriously? Geez. I guess that makes more sense with the Frozen Four but still.

Me, Joe, and wwhyte's family got tickets through BC's allotment but as far as I'm aware the "allotment" wasn't advertised to anyone and it was probably just a family and friends thing like everyone else has said about the other schools. Soooooo I think we were probably lucky.

Oh, and while on the subject of past experiences with ushers at Ridder: I would not recommend parking at a meter behind the arenas. The ushers won't let you back in should the game go to multiple OTs and you need to feed the meter. Parking in the big lot is $10...a parking ticket is $45.

I never got why you were planning this trip but didn't want to spring for the ticket back in December. It was a pretty cheap and painless ticket back then.

I think he was afraid of jinxing his team.

what? Guns are not allowed
it could very well be that they will be more strict for the F4
so what is the market or exchanging seats for SRO?

can I have $20?

Re: Tickets to FF?

DC shows up when her team isn't in the field. You can always support the game, if not your team.

DC would not have seen much March hockey the past few seasons if she didn't:(

At any rate, this year will be different, as I will be at home watching with my 15 week old puppy. Family first!

What? A jinx would derail the BC machine? Has he no confidence in the machine that is BC? When UW beat BC and BU to win it all TTT20 was full of bravado, what has happened?

Re: Tickets to FF?

Just out of curiosity, what was the street value of tickets for Friday's session? Did anyone observe or participate in any transactions?

On a different note, congrats to both the Gophers and the Crimson.

With all the publicity about the games being sold out there were very few buyers outside. Several scalpers had a fistfull of tickets and it appeared they ended up eating many of them. So if a buyer was willing to wait until the last minute he or she could have scored one for very little money. It was a totally different scene as compared to 2013.
