HOCKEY EAST ATHLETIC REPUBLIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#16 ASHLEY COTTRELL, PROVIDENCE
(Senior Forward; Sterling Heights, Mich.)
Cottrell tallied her first career hat trick and added one assist to lead the Friars past No. 4 Boston College on Saturday, 6-2, at Conte Forum. She notched seven shots on goal with a +3 rating in the victory for the Friars.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
#62 EMILY SNODGRASS, CONNECTICUT
(Freshman Forward; Eagan, Minn.)
Snodgrass posted two goals and an assist on the weekend. Netted a teamleading fourth power play goal in the 3-2 loss against No. 7 Northeastern. Added a goal and an assist in 6-3 win over UNH on Sunday at Freitas Ice Forum. Snodgrass finished the weekend with seven shots on goal for the Huskies.

WHEA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#41 FLORENCE SCHELLING, NORTHEASTERN
(Senior Goaltender; Oberengstringen, Switzerland)
Schelling stopped 35 shots in Northeastern's victory over Boston College in Tuesday's Beanpot semifinal. Schelling was a perfect 2-for-2 in the shootout. She then stopped 20 more shots on Saturday as Northeastern downed UConn, 3-2 at Matthews Arena. Schelling stopped 55 of 58 shots (.948 save%) on the week in two games.

WHEA TEAM OF THE WEEK
PROVIDENCE COLLEGE FRIARS
The Friars knocked off No. 4 Boston College on the road on Saturday by a 6-2 score at Conte Forum. PC scored three goals in the first two periods and then exploded for three goals in the final frame.

ARMY ROTC THREE STARS AWARD
At the conclusion of each Hockey East game, the " Army ROTC Three Stars of The Game" are selected. Here are the 2011-2012 season leaders to date:

Kendall Coyne, NU (Fr., F, Palos Heights, Ill.) Netted her seventh game-winner and 23rd goal of the season in the come-from-behind 3-2 win vs. UConn.

Brittany Dougherty, Maine (Jr., F, Chesterfield, Mich.) Tallied two goals and an assist in the sweep vs. Vermont.

Beth Hanrahan, PC (Fr., F, Poolesville, Md.) Contributed two assists in the Friars' 6-2 victory at #4 BC Saturday.

Genevieve Lacasse, PC (Sr., G, Kingston, Ont.) Made 37 savesto held Providence defeat #4 Boston College, 6-2 on Saturday.

Rachel Llanes, NU (Jr., F, San Jose, Calif.) She scored the game's opening goal and converted a goal in the shootout to send NU to the Beanpot final.

Isabel Menard, BU (Jr., F, Ottawa, Ont.) Notched seven points (2g,5a) on the week, including five points (1g,4a) in a 5-1 win at UNH on Saturday.

Rebecca Morse, PC (So., D, Westfield, N.J.) Contributed a goal and an assist in a 6-2 victory at fourth-ranked BC Saturday.

Brittany Ott, Maine (Jr., G, St. Clair Shores, Mich.) Combined for 43 saves (.977 save%) in two victories against Vermont.

Tori Pasquariello, Maine (Fr., F, Mississauga, Ont.) Scored two goals to help lead the Black Bears over Vermont in Saturday's game.

Kerrin Sperry, BU (So., G, North Reading, Mass.) She also made a combined 47 saves in two games this week.

Dawn Sullivan, Maine (Sr., F, Enfield, N.S.) Grabbed an assist in Saturday's game and scored the game-winning goal on Sunday vs. UVM.

Kayla Tutino, BU (Fr., F, Lorraine, Que.) Notched her 14th goal of the season on Saturday after she added two assists on Tuesday vs. Harvard.

Jenn Wakefield, BU (Sr., F, Pickering, Ont.) Picked up a goal and two assists on Saturday after scoring a goal on Tuesday against Harvard.

Danielle Ward, Maine (Sr., F, Lansing, Mich.) scored a goal on Saturday and assisted on two in Sunday's contest.

Tara Watchorn, BU (Sr., D, Newcastle, Ont.) Scored the game-winner and added an assist on Saturday after assisting on a goal vs. Harvard Tuesday.

Picking HE is tough. Everyone ties everyone. Take a look at the # of ties in HE versus the WCHA. Same number of teams but 32 ties versus 16.

I have often wondered if this was due to the number of goalie head coaches that we have in HE. IMO, they hate (even more than others) to get scored on so I have wondered how this impacts the play.

Hey, his heart got him the Beanpot championship game right. Can't really give hime a lot of credit for the 3rd place game that is in the books before he remembered how to login and post. :p

ATHLETIC REPUBLIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#18 ASHLEY MOTHERWELL, BC
(Junior Forward; St. Charles, Ill.)
Motherwell registered seven points (3g,4a), including her first career multi-goal game in the Beanpot on Monday vs. Harvard. She also notched a three-point game at Connecticut on Saturday. Motherwell finished the week with 10 shots on goal and a +5 plus/minus rating.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
#77 KENDALL COYNE, NORTHEASTERN
(Freshman Forward; Palos Heights, Ill.)
Coyne found the net in all three games this week. She opened the scoring and added an assist in the Beanpot final against Boston University on Monday at Walter Brown Arena. She tallied shorthanded against Maine on Saturday, then added the final NU goal vs. Maine on Sunday. Coyne amassed 16 shots on goal and added a +5 rating for the Huskies in three games.

WHEA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#41 FLORENCE SCHELLING, NORTHEASTERN
(Senior Goaltender; Oberengstringen, Switzerland)
Schelling recorded 96 saves on 100 shots by the opponent in three games, which included a season-high 43 saves vs. BU to help Northeastern to its first Beanpot since 1998 on Monday. She followed that performance with 35 saves and her nation-leading seventh shutout of the year on Saturday against Maine at Matthews Arena and finished with 18 saves on Sunday in the 3-1 victory vs. the Black Bears.

NORTHEASTERN HUSKIES
The Huskies won three games on the week, which included their first Beanpot Championship since 1998. Northeastern outscored its opponents, 11 to 4, on the week.

Corinne Boyles, BC (Jr., G, Wheaton, Ill.) Registered 82 saves with a .953 save percentage last week in three games.

Corinne Buie, PC (So., F, Edina, Minn.) Helped the Friars to a weekend sweep at rival UNH with a goal and two assists and a +4 rating in two games.

Alex Carpenter, BC (Fr., F, North Reading, Mass.) Posted five points (2g,3a) in three games last week for the Eagles.

Emily Field, BC (Fr., F, Littleton, Mass.) Posted her second career three-point game on Sunday, finishing the weekend with four points vs. Connecticut.

Genevieve Lacasse, PC (Sr., G, Kingston, Ont.) Earned two victories at UNH and stopped 41 of 44 shots (.953 save%).

Kristina Lavoie, UNH (Jr., F, Fonthill, Ont.) Factored in all three of UNH's goals with two goals and an assist in the weekend series against PC.

Mary Restuccia, BC (Sr., F, Chester Springs, Pa.) Netted five assists in three games with No. 8 Harvard and UConn.
