Unless I am wildly mistaken, it is usually the same two weeks as the men's Beanpot, which is always the first two Mondays of February. I was under the impression that the women's was always the first two Tuesdays in February.

Lavoie factored in four of the team's five goals last week with three goals and an assist. She recorded her first career hat trick with three goals in Saturday's 4-2 victory; she scored the first two goals of the game, as well as the tally that gave UNH a 4-0 lead. Lavoie also had a +2 rating with eight shots on goal on the weekend.

Sperry made a combined 58 saves in wins over BC and Northeastern. She also recorded her first shutout of the season on Wednesday vs. No. 4 Boston College with 30 saves and 28 in the 3-2 victory vs. No. 7 Northeastern on Saturday at Agganis Arena.

(Freshman Forward; Montpelier, Vt.)
Pelkey had two goals and one assist helping Vermont earn a split in its homeand- home series against New Hampshire this weekend. She recorded 10 shots on goal with a +2 plus/minus rating in the series vs. the Wildcats.

#27 GENEVIEVE LACASSE, PROVIDENCE
(Senior Goaltender; Scarborough, Ont.)
Lacasse stopped 51 of 53 shots (.962 save%) in the weekend sweep of Connecticut. Lacasse tied and surpassed the Providence College record for career victories by a goalie with 59 career victories, one more than former Friar great Jana Bugden '07. Saturday's 2-0 decision was Lacasse's 17th career shutout, also a Friar record.

What should have been an "easy" week, turned into a 50/50 one. Kudos to newcomer Eastfan for getting the BU sweep - by picking the underdogs - his words, not mine... (honorable mention to Slewfoot and Hockeyfan111 for picking BU for one game).

For those interested, it looks like the two beanpot games will be streamed live via the buterriers website.
There is currently some ice issues they are addressing, with puck drop at 5:25 for the NU/BC game.

With all the non Beanpot schools fiannaly catching up with their games in hand we have a stratified standings like we all thought coming into the season.
NU and bc seem to have the byes in their control. NU clinches with a win Saturday or Sunday, and controls their destiny for 1st place, while bc only needs 5/8 points from UVM and UConn.
bu, Maine and PC are all tightly grouped for the 2 home ice slots.
And down at the bottom UVM, UConn and UNH are all in the running to make a playoff appearance.
There are bound to be a few surprises left in the regular season anyone care to say what they will be? I think either UConn or UVM might steal one of their games against bu/bc.
