This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

Re: This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

Swear to God I was -- Look at the timestamp! I was making a humorous South Park reference in saying that the UConn lead was "gone". Not making this up.

BTW...TTT, as our designated Troll detector need your input...Looks like we have new Troller gracing these pages, aka The Wizard. Do you agree.
I looked at their posts, I didn't see anything really ridiculous... which are you referring to?

Nothing against these winners, who I'm sure are deserving, but just wanted to note that it's remarkable that Andie Anastos has played in every game and taken only a single penalty all season.

Re: This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

[Best Defenseman Award: Emily Pfalzer, BC
This was a very pleasant surprise to me, I thought she had been one of the very best players on the team the 2nd half of the season and it's nice to see she was recognized for it.

Re: This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

Tell you what, if you guys promise to beat Minnesota, I'll allow it.
You'll never be deserving of being the champ until you're prepared to do your own heavy lifting. The Eagles match up better against us than anyone else in the country (maybe excepting UND if they get goaltending, but that can be a big if). I hope we get to play again; it'll be fun either way. </end of thread hijack>

I mean honestly I would love it -- I'm just soooooooooooooooooooo very tired of having the two best teams in the country play in the semifinals!

Curious as to how you think BC matches up well, since I haven't watched Minnesota that much since you guys finally lost.

BC and Harvard can skate with Minnesota, which IMO is the first step. I don't think that teams are going to beat the Gophers in the postseason by packing it in and trying to win, 2-1, by playing defense for most of the game. Your offense is better than Harvard's so ... The question for BC will be if the blue line can play well enough. Beyond 21 and 14, it has looked a little vulnerable when I've watched it.

Well that's good to know.

I would probably need to go to the hospital if we had another OT game to be totally honest.

Interestingly, although I agree that Bender and Pfalzer are the most dynamic and aggressive Ds, the +/- is: Mangene +25, Bender + 25, Pfalzer +24, Johnson +24. Given how much Pfalzer and Bender have directly contributed to the + side of that equation through assists and goals, it says a lot for how strong Mangene and Johnson are defensively. (Not denying that you saw what you saw, of course, but the stats are interesting).

I was looking mostly at who could handle the puck against pressure w/o turning it over and that was my opinion. I'm just looking at a webcast, while you are there, so maybe you see what I don't.

Re: This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

Soooooooo... is there any video from Hyannis?

EDIT: Found it! http://www.hockeyeastonline.tv/

It doesn't seem like you can watch the finals there though... what? I know it's going to be on NESN Sunday night but that doesn't help those of us who want to watch it live...

You can always head to the Cape. I mean if it is a BC-BU final would you not want to be there ?.

BTW...I'm hoping for a Clarkson-BC quarter in Potsdam. Would you come up for that ?
