The Winter Weather thread - 2010 - 2011. Shovel this!!

Re: The Winter Weather thread - 2010 - 2011. Shovel this!!

That's because it all blew away :p

Downeast it looks like it is turning into ice. Even more fun.

I love all the dolts walking around the streets of NYC like they've never seen snow before. It's just hilarious TV. I get it if we're talking about South Carolina. NYC? rofl.
What's wrong with that? I went out for a walk last night and walked down the middle of the street just because I could.

has the northeast blown up yet?

They can keep it -- drove home from Toronto yesterday, just some light snow from Batavia to north of Williamsport and not a flake on the ground here today.

Re: The Winter Weather thread - 2010 - 2011. Shovel this!!

There are two people here in my office today, including me.

To be fair, it's the Monday after Christmas weekend and there were a lot of people planning to be out of the office today, three on vacation, one on maternity leave, two taking a long weekend, so we were probably expecting something like 8 of our regular count of 14. One guy comes in by ferry from central NJ and his service is suspended, another drives from out by the airport and presumably doesn't want to get on the road, and the other four come from far reaches of Brooklyn and Queens and are probably hit pretty badly by subway disruptions. It's probably no coincidence that the other guy who's here and I are the two people who live the closest to the office.

I would tell you how the traffic is on Rt 1 but I can't see across the river in this ****. :p
According to channel 6 it turned over to sleet/freezing rain during the night which means there will be a nice layer of ice in the snow.

Days like these I'm kinda glad I can't shovel/plow anymore.

I didn't bother to even go in today. Logged into the desktop via remote/laptop. Been in the kitchen all day watching my father in law snow blow my driveway. Set the alarm for 815a, was at work by 816a ;)

Re: The Winter Weather thread - 2010 - 2011. Shovel this!!

We got more snow this afternoon then we did overnight

Re: The Winter Weather thread - 2010 - 2011. Shovel this!!

We had enough snow so my Golden can't do his business unless he's in the plowed driveway:) Which really isn't plowed anymore as more blowing and drifting took place overnight

I like how he keeps propping up the clock, and then has to repeatedly dig it out.

Another overblown "storm of the century" here in Allentown. We got an inch or two, and it all blew away on Monday.

It's hard to tell how much we got. In some areas there is 3' and in others there are only a few inches. Judging by the fact that my front steps are buried I'd guess around 18 inches.
