I just thought I would update real quick...#6 will definitely be released this Sunday. We are debating about whether to release #5 and 4 this Sunday as well, or to wait and release the entire top 5 the following Sunday (26th).

Also, there will be some slight changes to the site in the coming weeks, and we're hoping to have those done by the beginning of March. The Bracketology and Tournament Forecast should be updated at some point this week as well, and the Power Rankings will reappear for next week.

This could come down to the #1 team. There are seven people that have 4 out of the 5 top teams picked, and statehockey picked all 5. It looks like statehockey and bumpreader have the inside track to the coveted jersey.

IF we assume that Maine and Cornell are 1 or 2 and that Denver, North Dakota and Northern Michigan are 3,4 or 5, there are 12 possibilities and 7 possible winners: css228 (16.6%), siouxfaninseattle (16.6%), dwollstadt (16.6%), bumpreader (16.6%), spartanforlife4 (16.6%), Moxie Girl (8.3%), Shirtless Guy (8.3%).

Just curious, do you know the top five teams, or are you very confident in your judgment?

If anyone (else) were curious to see how the standings would have appeared after # 6 was announced if FS23's proposed scoring methodology had been utilized, here is that list:

Confirmation that '01-'02 got screwed and the fix was in for UND. :D

IMO, the '02-'03 Gopher squad was better than the '01-'02 team. Finishing third and failing to win your conference tournament doesn't really say "dominance" to me. Plus, the '01-'02 Gopher squad lost to the worst UND team in the last 15 years...pathetic. ;)

Now, if the list was for greatest games of all-time, the '02 Championship is almost assuredly in the top 5 when you factor in the location, tourney drought, comeback, and controversy.

They had a better winning percentage than at least 4 teams on your list and their only NC loss was to Denver (the regular season WCHA winner) in the WCHA playoffs. But no big deal either way. :)

Their non-conference opponents were not all that stellar. Additionally, the WCHA was not all that great in 01-02. Those two factors, along with the fact that they were under .800, and failed to win either of the WCHA trophies kept that Gopher squad out of the top 25. I'm still going through and tallying up all the teams that ever made it to the NCAA Tournament (I've ranked every Final/Frozen Four Team, and most of the high win% ncaa tourney teams), so I don't have an exact spot for where that Gopher squad will land, but right now they are #75 on the list...just behind the '65 Michigan Tech squad, and just ahead of the 91-92 Michigan team.

EDIT: BTW, if you are curious how another team did, now that CHW decided to announce the top 5, I'll gladly share where that team is currently ranked.

What about statehockey? With 5 of the top 5 picked, if they are in the correct order, wouldn't he/she have a shot?
