Re: The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

Whoa, I don't recall standing FOR CSA statues. I might have said (I don't recall) that a bigger deal was made of them than what was needed, but that's about it. So you can stop right there, please.
You always argue that they're a part of history and need to remain untouched, even if they were build well after the Civil War and people want to take them down because of what they represent and why they were built in the first place.

Nothing more fragile than a white male republican.

Re: The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

Winners usually write history. In the case of a great many of those Civil War statues, the losers were trying to use them as a tool to help claw back some of their losses.

no, that actually defaulted due to rule two. the winners left with the end to restruction... creating the vacuum.

Re: The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

I am shocked none of our right wing posters, who are oh so concerned when a RWNJ speaker gets booted off campus, has mentioned this one.

And this isn't because of students, this was done at the behest of a freaking state political party.

So, they rescinded his invitation because his of position on abortion... which is the position of the United States Supreme Court?

Your move, flyovers...

Women Republicans always claim opposition to their inanities is sexist.

Black Republicans always claim opposition to their inanities is racist.

I think we may have located the problem.

That was the official reason. The real reason is retaliation for libs protesting fascist trolls like Milo, Crowder, and Coulter.

Re: The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

Mayor of Baltimore has stepped down after stepping in it big time.

Re: The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

This one seems pretty cut-and-dried.

How does Maryland have a Republican Governor though? Between Baltimore and the Beltway 'burbs, you'd think the Ds would have a lock on power in Annapolis.

The MD Dems have come up with some lousy nominees. Also, MD Republicans are farther left than many prairie or southern Dems. Also also: a lot of MD Dem voters care more about their property values than civil rights.

Follow an unpopular Dem governor who never met a tax or fee he didn't raise.

Also, the legislature is overwhelmingly D. The legislature can override any veto so the effect of a GOP governor is minimized.

If you want an insight into MD politics, check out the race & election for speaker of the MD house.

Trying to decide if my shock at the 500k figure should be, "Florida has 500,000 felons?" or "Florida has only 500,000 felons?".
