The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Congrats to PC. They played great tonight. Definitely a different team with Schaller in the lineup.

Lowell better bring their A game tomorrow.

Again, kudos.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Man, you guys are a completely different team with Schaller in the lineup.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Great win for the seniors and the new program.....truely a rebirth of PC Hockey.....thanks Nate and staff lets get 1 more.....Go Friars

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

It's been a long, long time. Thank you Mr. Leaman for coming to Huxley Avenue.

Congrats Friars! Let's make it two.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Nice to see Derek and the Friars on the front page of College Hockey News this morning. Also sweet is that CHN predicted Lowell in a sweep. I know its only one game, but it has been a long, long time.

I found this piece in INCH's Hockey East playoff preview rather stunning: "Friars Fact: Providence is the only team in the country that doesn’t have a player with collegiate playoff hockey experience"

Well, nice the first experience for all of these guys was a victory.

Yes it is only one game, but ...

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Great job Friars! Very proud of the team's effort and thankful to have solid coaching back on Huxley!!!

It will be tough but they are going to need to play at the top of their game to make it to the Garden. UML has been solid this season and are going to bring it tonight. They will also need Beaudry to be a wall in net like he's been capable of in the past because Lowell is too good to let up against.

It's been 11 years since PC has advanced past the first round of the HE playoffs (can't believe it either)...and 4 years not having made it at all. I can't imagine there's been another team in HE with that poor of a track record, which is why that's a big building block type win last night. Get one more win and Leaman will have at least accomplished more in 1 season than Army did in his entire tenure, though I am guessing Lowell is going to be bringing their "A" game the rest of the way forward here.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

I'd like to go. I have to have my son in Worcester for 7p. May try to drop him early at practice and try to make it sometime in the 1st period.

Bad parenting, I know.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Take a day of rest and go for it again......who would have bet they would still be in it

Didn't seem that way to me but it was closer to it than last night. Don't know what's going to happen Sunday but bet it'll be exciting. Props to your team for hanging in there....
