I think Fish and Frauddy are the same person :D

Not only that, but that person is actually a top secret government agent who is boosting obvious whacko Alex Jones as a distraction from the REAL conspiracies.

It goes THAT deep.

Re: The Power of SCOTUS VIII redux: IX is being blocked by the Senate.

A bit tangential to this thread, but it fits:

My college roommate just finished serving as a juror on a criminal trial for Tim Deflorin of Forest Lake, MN, who they convicted. You can google the original news stories of his arrest from last year. My buddy is a bit shook up by the whole process, very humbled by the experience. And he never wants to do it again.

ETA: He could only tell me about being on that case a few minutes ago, after the judge discharged the jurors from their service. He's not in a hurry to share details of the case.

Re: The Power of SCOTUS VIII redux: IX is being blocked by the Senate.

I forgot which thread we've been using to discuss voter fraud cases.....

The "debate" always seems to bifurcate: (1) you cannot prove any one particular person was responsible, therefore it did not happen, vs (2) there were more votes cast than voters, therefore fraud must have happened.

Latest exhibit.

oops. this recount is not following the script it was supposed to follow, eh?

With all due respect....

I would think a case like that would cure any desire a person would have to serve on a jury again. Having to weigh the testimony of someone of events from when they were two years old, with the serious consequences if your verdict is wrong in either direction. I don't blame your friend.

Nah, they're way different. Fish is Comical Ali. Flag is the Unibomber.

Look at the few times Flaggy tries to post sanely...it isnt far off from FreshFish and his concern trolling.

I think they are both bits being played by someone else. They are genius in their stupidity. Unless they are both real...in which case this country is even dumber than I thought :D

Neither of them are stupid. Flag is crazy and really impressionable. Fish seems to be a fairly smart person who has read only one book -- the freshman who spouts Ayn Rand in the dorm until the jocks get bored and throw him in the dumpster.

From his early posts I honestly thought Fish was about 18. Later when it became apparent he was significantly older I lost patience. Most guys go through that phase -- hell, I had to stop reading The Fountainhead when I was 14 because it was too painfully close to my soul -- but most guys outgrow it the moment they hit the real world, meet different kinds of people, and acquire a few things in their life more important than their precious snowflake opinions.

Can't wait for the new Cave Man nomination. 21st?

Most of Ike's SCOTUS appointments were originally recess appointments that were eventually confirmed by the (D) Senate. Of course, back then most of the Congress was bi partisan.

Weren't both parties clamoring for Ike to declare under their party?

Trump’s advisers want his Supreme Court pick to be one of his earliest acts as president, though the plan has been not to announce a choice until after Sen. Jeff Sessions is confirmed as attorney general. Both Sessions and any high court pick must pass through the same Senate Judiciary Committee.

So, never then? Good. Keep it at 8 his entire Presidency. Would serve them right.

Won't happen. You gave up the super-majority closure when you had the Senate.

They did that for district courts only - maybe the appellate courts, too, but it did not include the SCOTUS approvals.

I know a lot of people are going to kill me for this, but, no. No, no, no. What the GOP did was disgusting, but we're better than that and we have to let the wheels move. The difference is the GOP dreams of a world with no government in the way of the rich except for a police force to protect their stuff from the serfs, so they don't care if the system grinds to a halt and people are hurt -- in fact, that's a feature for them because then they get to tell their lemmings "See? We told you government sucks!"

We're the adults in the room, and we're the only ones left who are going to protect democratic process. Let their nominees come to a vote. The American people have voted for animals, but -- they voted. It is not for us to counter that undemocratically.
