The polls - scratching KRACH, PWC, CoP and robbery! ...---...

Re: The polls - scratching KRACH, PWC, CoP and robbery! ...---...

Was I "mistaking"..?

The AQ's themselves are the problem. Without them, the field would likely be a decent representation of 90% of the better teams in D-3.

That's not the point. The point of tournaments is to reward the teams that win, not the teams that we perceive to be better. If that was the point then why even play the games? Just use the criteria to decide who the national champion is.

So, you're beating it then? Great!

Pointing out grammatical errors is the telltale sign someone feels like they're losing an Internet debate...

Don't count it out...look at who's on the committee...

As the Sports Information Director at Norwich University are you really posting here to suggest Bill Kangas is corrupt? This isn't the first time you have said such a thing. Care to share your evidence?

Fill in the blanks:
ECAC-E: Norwich
ECAC-NE: Nichols
MASCAC: Plymouth St.
NESCAC:
SUNYAC: Plattsburgh St.
MIAC: Hamline
NCHA: Adrian

Pool B: Stevens Point

Pool C (3): Trinity, Hobart, Oswego/Amherst

Firming up
East
1. Amherst
2. Trinity
3. Hobart
4. Norwich
5. Plattsburgh
6. Oswego / Williams
7. Nichols
8. Plymouth St.

West
1. Adrian
2. Stevens Point
3. Hamline

If Amherst wins the NESCAC,
Round 1
Plattsburgh @ Norwich
Nichols @ Hobart
Plymouth @ Trinity

QF
Oswego @ Adrian
Hamline @ Stevens Point
Norwich/Plattsburgh @ Amherst
Nichols/Hobart vs. Plymouth/Trinity

If Williams wins the NESCAC
Round 1
Williams @ Plattsburgh (though this may flip based on H2H)
Nichols @ Norwich
Plymouth St. @ Trinity

QF
Hobart @ Adrian
Hamline @ Stevens Point
Williams/Plattsburgh @ Amherst
Nichols/Norwich vs. Plymouth/Trinity

That's my take.

I think it's Hobart over St. Norbert. I think the defending champs are done. I think my only question is if Amherst loses tomorrow, is it Oswego or Hobart that stays home? I have a feeling that Hobart may pass Oswego in tomorrow's ranking. Guess we won't know until Monday!

My Prediction...

ECAC-E: Norwich
ECAC-NE: Nichols
MASCAC: Plymouth St.
NESCAC: Williams
SUNYAC: Plattsburgh St.
MIAC: Hamline
NCHA: Adrian

Pool B: Stevens Point

Pool C (3): Trinity, Amherst, Hobart

Hobart v Oswego is a real interesting comparison considering Hobart's RNK and H2H. Could easily go either way.

Since Hobart was above Oswego in the last ranking and Hobart won and Oswego lost, what makes you think the positions would be reversed come Monday?

Oswego was 3rd and Hobart was fourth.

I'll take a stab:

1. Amherst
2. Trinity
3. Norwich
4. Hobart
5. Plattsburgh
6. Oswego
7. Nichols
8. Plymouth

Nichols and Plymouth won't be officially ranked, of course, but in terms of seeding in the tournament, I don't think you're far off. UMB and someone like Babson or Williams will take the bottom 2 slots in the rankings.

Of course, we could see Oswego stay ahead of Plattsburgh (and I think we will, to be honest). And if Amherst loses today, while Oswego will remain ranked they would probably drop out of the tournament field altogether. (They could even remain ahead of Plattsburgh in the rankings AND drop put of the tournament!)

I am predicting the Williams upset today, so here's my guess on the tournament:

Hamline @ Stevens Point
Plymouth State @ Plattsburgh
Nichols @ Williams

HAM/WSP @ Adrian
PLY/PLT @ Amherst
NIC/WIL @ Trinity
Hobart @ Norwich

It was my stab at the East seedings for the tourney, not the polls. Someone suggested Plattsburgh going to Norwich in a 1st round game and THEN going to Amherst for a QF ! That seems kind of brutal, doesn't it? I'd much prefer your guess Nate.....Plymouth State at home and hopefully at Amherst (I'd rather play Trinity!). It's all going to depend on the Williams-Amherst game today.....especially if you're a Laker fan!

The Plattsburgh to Norwich scenario came into play when trying to avoid flights (Adrian to Hobart in a QF, with the other two west teams in a QF.). With all first round games in the east, it broke down to Plattsburgh at Norwich.

For those who can work with the numbers better than I can, I know Hobart wins in winning percentage, but who gets the "B" ??

Re: The polls - scratching KRACH, PWC, CoP and robbery! ...---...

Sorry if this has already been covered......

Will there be an NCAA DIII hockey selection show (like last year)?

Edit: Found my answer Here

(10:30 AM Monday March 9...right after the Women's 10:00 selection show)
