I know this is not the only concern, but the Vikings need S help after this weekend pronto.

If you want one who can 'defend' himself, Merriweather is free. He can play safety and shoot people, although it is yet to be proven he can do both at the same time.

No mention of his budding rap career?! :D He's released a few songs on iTunes and they've debuted on 98.5, the Boston Sports Hub radio station.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Had my Auction Draft today....I'm in a PPR league, 260 fantasy dollar budget. Starting 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 TE, 1 K, 2 DE, 2 LB, 2 DB.

I overspent on QB a bit, so my depth is lacking in other positions, hence the bargain basement prices for the backups...but outside of that, I'm pretty happy:

QB M. Vick (41)
QB J. Cutler (1)

RB A. Peterson (59)
RB D. McFadden (36)

RB T. Gerhart (1)
RB J. Snelling (1)
RB M. Tolbert (1)

WR C. Johnson (45)
WR Austin (29)
WR M. Wallace (28)

WR R. Meachem (1)
WR R. Williams (1)

TE Z. Miller (2)
TE D. Keller (1)

K R. Bironas (1)
K N. Folk (1)

DL J. Babin (1)
DL C. Campbell (1)

DL I. Idonije (1)
DL M. Kiwanuka (1)

LB D. Johnson (1)
LB S. Tulloch (1)

LB D. Bishop (1)

DB C. Finnegan (1)
DB D. Whitner (1)

DB T. Williams (1)

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I had to autodraft in the league that CHA put together for this year. It is a keeper league, with a whole bunch of players starting and huge rosters. (not sure how I feel about that yet, I guess we'll see when the season gets underway) Start: 2-QB, 4-WR, 4-RB, 2-TE, 2-K, 2-DEF

Autodraft gave me:
QB - Jay Cutler
QB - Kevin Kolb
QB - Chad Henne
RB - Arian Foster
RB - Peyton Hillis
RB - LeSean McCoy
RB - DeAngelo Williams
RB - Thomas Jones
RB - Marion Barber
WR/RB - Dexter McCluster
WR - Brandon Lloyd
WR - Wes Welker
WR - Stevie Johnson
WR - Reggie Wayne
WR - Devin Hester
WR - Joshua Cribbs
WR - Danario Alexander
WR - Denarius Moore
WR - Jacoby Jones
WR - Braylon Edwards
TE - Aaron Hernandez
TE - Jimmy Graham
TE - Visanthe Shiancoe
K - Stephen Gostkowski
K - Mason Crosby
K - David Buehler
DEF - San Diego
DEF - New York Giants
DEF - St. Louis

I also got some other WR by the name of Josh Morgan, that I had never heard of. Since I have a **** ton of receivers, and a bunch of ****ty ones, I decided to take a flyer on Joe Webb, and dropped that Morgan clown. I figure that since its a keeper league, there may a little value in holding onto a guy like Webb. I have the extra rosters spots.

Overall, I like my RB and WR, except for the fact that we have so many roster spots that I have 5th wide receivers from Oakland and San Francisco. My quarterbacks are downright putrid.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Josh Morgan will now become a touchdown vulture and become the most valuable WR in football. :p
(He caught 44 balls for 700 yards last year)

Great QB's too :D

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Josh McCown? Really? As a Jaguars fan, I have no idea what to say... Why not just go to Gabbert at this point? The season is lost

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

No, no. Luke McCown. The other white meat.

As a shock to no one, Peyton is out on Sunday.

Wait, wha? I haven't heard ANYTHING about it. Hold on, I think I heard a brief mention on how the franchise is done for because of this, and should move to LA.

I wonder if the commish will push the Colts to have a bad season and then push Luck into the draft. :D
