Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

The....Lions? Maybe in 2 years. Maybe.

1) i need value. i am not going to bother picking the patsies and the packers and getting 5-1 return on my money that is tied up for 7 months.
2) i broke out my nfc thinking already. i am guessing that the rams have a very good chance to win the west (and get into the playoffs). i also think the lions have a good chance to get a wc (and...get into the playoffs).
3) the return is right for me to wager. saints worked for my two years ago at 26-1 too!! :D
4) i make a bet on each conference. worked out ok the past three years. what can i say?!?! ;)

What were re Buccaneers going off at?

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

honestly, they aren't even on my radar. (hope that doesn't come back and bite me)
They're my darkhorse pick at this point. They were pretty good last year and should be getting better. I just think they're further along than DET and STL. But then, I was completely wrong last year.

i thought they were incredibly lucky when they won (over bad teams), and exposed themselves as not being good enough to beat good teams when they lost. but whatda i know?!?

..and yes, i did get sick to my stomach having to watch mendenhall fumble again.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

That really wouldn't be that bad of a place for him to land at. Peyton isn't going to be that good this year because of his neck, but I think if he's smart, he doesn't rush things and the Colts could get another 2 years out of him after this season. Luck could go there and spend some time getting some seasoning without having to be rushed into duty, other than hopefully in a lot of mope up duty in games. Beats going to Buffalo for him anyways.

Only reason I want Luck is so I can be excited about my team for once in my life.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

The NBC coverage is starting to annoy me. The sound mix is too focused on the announcers, and they keep muddling the crowd noise and cutting to commercials too quick after scores. Two touchdowns and I still haven't heard Bang The Drum All Day.

For once in your life? You were excited for about 4 straight years there buddy...

It's bordering on nearly 20 years. I can understand a little dry spell, but this is nuts. And before you jump on me Lions fans... you guys have hope and that's a hard thing to find where I'm at.

Another 30 years and I might feel a smidgen of pity.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I don't get people who get so into fantasy that they lose track of who they root for.

I would never be upset about sitting Sproles compared to me beig worried about the Packers giving up easy points like that.

I had ARodg last year, and while I wouldn't have minded the Packers lose every game, I still wanted a high-scoring game. ;)
