The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I don't get people who get so into fantasy that they lose track of who they root for.

I would never be upset about sitting Sproles compared to me beig worried about the Packers giving up easy points like that.
That's about the only thing that's kept me from going down that rabbit hole.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

FFL enhances games for me. You think I'd voluntarily sit through a CLE-DET game?

And uh oh.....

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

what a game to kick off the 2011 NFL Season. If the rest of the season is like this, we're in for a hell of a ride.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

*facepalm* Brees has 420 yards. Yeah, hand it off to your rookie running back instead.
Agreed. They should have given it to him a few more times throughout the night and stuck with the run a little better but that wasn't one of those times.

Only reason I want Luck is so I can be excited about my team for once in my life.

If you want Luck so bad, Buffalo has to suck. Hence, spare us all for a change and don't complain if/when they do. Otherwise, pick one or the other.

I actually want them to. Maybe if it's bad enough, they'll take Chan out back and finish him. I never liked him and thought his accomplishments were trumped up. His main bragging point was the Steeler offense in the early 90s. That offense was bland, boring and vanilla. The only reason the Steelers went deep in the playoffs is because their D. He went 10-6 with Dallas, but I could go 10-6 with Aikman, Irvin and Smith. He then got canned at Georgia Tech and was fired by KC. Look how much better the Chiefs did when they let him go. The proof is in the pudding. So that's why I want Luck because I don't think even the Bills could mess this kid up.

Did a draft during the game tonight...three guys got into a bidding war over Peyton Manning. Ooops. We all waited until they had finished before laughing at them. :D

I got Kerry Collins for $1...could be the steal of the draft.

During the game and they were still thinking Manning was a good buy? Do they not have ESPN? That was all over the place all day. When the words "neck" and "fusion" are in the same sentence I'd have to tell that poor bastard who "won" he's probably not looking at a day to day deal.

1) We were on espn.com
2) My team name is "Manning's Neck Brace"

and they still bid him up. It was hilarious. I nominated Randy Moss, but they didn't bite. :p

Listening to ESPN, just fold up the Colts franchise. Cease to continue operations. It was amazing how dramatic they made it sound. He's not dead, you morons. He may not come back, but JFC, he still lives on.

Vikings sign Adrian Peterson to a 7 year, $100mil deal. $34 million guaranteed.
Bet that will end well.

Agreed. MN fans are beyond fickle. There's the "one of us" mentality which I will get to in a minute, and there's the "need to spend more money like those big teams" mentality.

Example: If the Twins let Joe Mauer (aka Baby Jesus) to sign elsewhere, they'd have burned the franchise to the ground and peed on the grave. Many of those same people are now tearing Mauer apart and saying it was a stupid contract.

AP is in the (almost) same situation. He's arguably the best RB in the league, and if MN let him go? Well, hello, LA, how ya doing?
