The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Unless I missed a pickup, the Seahawks are going to try the novel "no quarterback" offense this season. Or maybe Warren Moon will come down from the booth. Heck, dude's probably younger than George Blanda was.

They picked up Tavaras Jackson and named him the starter.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Huh. So this is all a gambit to land Gus Frerotte? ;)

The good news is, 6-10 might win our division this year.

Carroll thinks he is smarter than Childress, which he is, and that he can fix Jackson, which he can't.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I just overheard the words "How about those Vikings, Super Bowl this year, baby!" at work. My god, are people this delusional?

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

T.J Housh meeting with the Patriots on Monday. A report earlier in the week mentioned the Pats cutting Chad "Johnson" and/or Haynesworth. Johnson has already received a 4.5 million dollar signing bonus, so he probably isnt going anywhere.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

What is Goodell doing recommending certain teams over others? Seems completely inappropriate.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

And with Goodell being from WNY, it's an even worse thing.
uhm, no...its not. Its bad because he's commissioner of a league, doesn't matter where he's from. That doesn't make it worse. The question is did Goodell suggest he consider coming back in a backup role somewhere or did he actually say "you should go to philadelphia, its a good situation for you." If it's the former and other people (dungy, his agent, etc) pushed him towards Philly, I'm not upset in the least. IF the NFL people involved said, "you can come back but we don't want you to jump into a starting role because it will be bad for the league" I don't see a problem with that.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Commisioners should not be handing out advice. They need to be neutral. If Dungy or an advisor said to go to Philly, then I'm OK with it because advisors give advice. The league doesn't need to be influencing players.

At work being forced to watch the Steelers and Eagles. I get to watch a low life scum of the Earth play QB tonight. And I also get to watch Mike Vick.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Patriots are picking apart Tampa Bay. The D is looking really great for New England.

Hey, be nice to Ben. He only rapes girls that are drunk and say yes with their eyes.
