Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Don't even get me started on the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.... My Jaguars might end up being the sleeper pick to win that this year  :(

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Fairley already signed in Detroit. The league needed this new rookie wage scale a long time ago.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Philly has signed Nnamdi Buyavowel

Also, if Jake Locker had come out last year he would have had almost $37 million guaranteed...today he got $12 million. #1 pick Cam Newton lost almost $40 million.

Cam Newton has enough money, he can afford to lose 40 million.

Cam is not the answer. You might be right.

Carolina has brought in Derek Anderson too. It's enough to make you go out and start throwin the pigskin, anybody can be a third string QB in today's NFL. Of the close to 90 QB's that will make rosters, how many are really qualified to play? Seems like the 3rd guy is now just a body that they have no intention of developing; they just need somebody for emergency purposes. Or, if they do want to develop a young guy, the #2 is an old guy who has never been a legitimate #1 anywhere.

The only controversy comes when the team has two crappy guys, nobody is Danny White waiting behind Staubach or Young waiting for Montana.

Hey now...the Packers have Matt Flynn ;)

Kluwe and McNabb have agreed on the terms of the deal, transferring the number 5.

I have a feeling that these sort of moments are going to be the only somewhat fun things Vikings fans see this season.

I also like that Kluwe is switching to number 4, so all of the fans with #4 jerseys can just change the name and have a Kluwe jersey.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Anyone else notice the highlight package they had in tribute to Moss at the end of last night's SportsCenter? Must've been at least 60% clips of him in a Patriots jersey, despite only spending 3+ seasons there over 13 years. I even spotted a few shots of Tom Brady edited in there. Just Tom Brady.

ESPN is reaching MSNBC/Fox News levels of "not even trying to hide it anymore".
