The Buffalo Bills get a new look for whenever the season starts.

Bills new unis

Going back to the white helmet and blue shirts.

(Insert your own something else on the team needing a makeover joke here.)
I like those a lot actually, good looking unis. I really hope a deal gets done before the deadline for the Vikings to close training camp here. I need training camp in mankato.

So why is a Canadian paper (National Post) reporting on this? I doubt USA Today would let us know if the Argos redesigned their unis.

Because the Bills are the defacto NFL team of Toronto, a city the Canadian press revolves the same way the US press revolves around what happens in New York.

Those will look great once old Ralph dies and the highest auction bidder moves them to LA.

I think they'd look more at home in Houston:

Some problems with that:

Memories. I don't think this will happen anytime soon unless we jettison the old farts brigade coaching and owning the team.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Have there been any hard deadlines talked about for getting a deal done? I'm thinking along the lines of XX-date to get a normal training camp/pre-season in or XX-date to do a abbreviated camp but not lose any regular season game or XX-date before we start losing regular season games... As it comes down to it, I think urgency takes over and this gets done... I just would like to know what kind of time frame we are working with here....

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I think they've been saying mid-July if they want to get pre-season games in.

July 15.

The NFLPA had a conference call yesterday and told 50 marquee players not to listen to the media speculation (read: ESPN), they aren't close to a deal. This was reported by Jay Glazer and naturally refuted by the ESPN reporters. Given a choice between Glazer and the NFL reporters from ESPN, I'll take Glazer.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Shouldn't be too big of a deal if this happens. There are several pro leagues that would be happy to pick up the slack, I believe they are called "SEC", "PAC-12", "Big 12" and "BIG".

The question is whether the TV networks want to go to Sunday games and tick off the NFL. They would get great ratings in the short term, but the nets have a substantial relationship with the Shield. Not sure they want to jeopardize that.

Also, college football needs to be careful or the NFL may decide when they come back that they'll put a couple games a week on Saturday and take some of the luster off the college game.

The NFL can not put games on Friday or Saturday during a specific time of year to not take away from High School and College Football...if there are lost games by the NFL, ESPN/CBS/VS would be silly not to schedule some games on sunday...

I don't think the NFL would take from College games even if they did play on Saturday. There is another level of devotion to college teams, especially in the south, that I don't believe the NFL has with it's fanbase.
