Re: The NFL Thread (cont'd)

opening line at hilton is GB -2.

... i thought it was gonna open -2.5, maybe -3.

Wow. I'd put money on the Steelers with that line. I could see it actually shrinking to even, or maybe Steelers by 2 by the end of the week.

Re: The NFL Thread (cont'd)

Anyone got odds on Ben getting into some sort of shennanigans with a female? :D

Should the slogan for female Steelers fans be, "as long as it's not my ***?"

And as much as I hate the officials, there were only two bad calls for me. 1) The defenseless reciever penalty. That was an awful call. Smith made a clean hit. The receiver wasn't defenseless, he wasn't hit in the head, the ball was in the vicinity. 2) The lack of a call for Harrison's MMA elbow strike after Sanchez slid. Not only did he hit him, he even hit him in the head after a slide.

It was a late hit.

Too bad. I enjoyed watching all the New Englanders have a collective hissy. All things must pass, I suppose.

:)

What are the Minny fans doing now that GB is in the SB??? ;)

The Steelers just said, "Not in our house, beeches!" Nice stand there at the goal line.

Nothing better than seeing crybaby Tomlinson stuffed and sent home. Great job by the Jets going away from Shonn Greene :p

Harrison seemed to lead with the elbow there, I think he knew exactly what he was doing. I'd go for it if I'm the Jets.

Harrison is a turd.

Re: The NFL Thread (cont'd)

I agree *gasp* with TBA on the defenseless reciever hit. Terrible call. Legal hit (as in not helmet-to-helmet, etc), and little time for reaction. If he had caught the ball, that hit would have been appreciated by football fans everywhere. However, he didn't catch the ball. So now it's a penalty. And before anyone brings in extreme situations, I'll say again: little time for reaction. It was a bang-bang play. I thought it was a great hit, great play, and there should have been no flag.

As for MNs in relation to the Pack in the SB? Not a Vikes fan, but * GB. Go Steelers. If the Jets would have won.....I'd be facing a dilemma, given my opinion of Rex Ryan.

Re: The NFL Thread (cont'd)

I view GB as a slight favorite in this game. I definitely think they can pass on the Steelers...

I dunno. I think 2 points either way is fair, but I'd be more apt to have the Steelers as faves. My official prediction is 24-20, PIT. It should be a helluva game, though. And GB can pass on anyone, since that's their bread-n-butter. Can they run on them enough to open up the passing game even more? That's the question.

If they can't, I see the Steelers running 3 on the line, and letting the secondary take care of business. If GB can run, or at least threaten to, then there's another guy on the line, probably with more blitzes/line rushes, and then Pit may be in trouble.

Re: The NFL Thread (cont'd)

I also don't think the Steelers o-line can handle the GB front. If McCarthy wants to know how to score on the Steelers, just look at what Brady does to the Steelers every time they play. Rodgers can do it too. You don't have to run the ball on them.

Re: The NFL Thread (cont'd)

So Steelers and Packers at Jerryworld = nightmare scenario for Cowboys fans? At least it's not the Eagles, I suppose...
