There was quite a stir in the wrestling world after CM Punk appeared backstage at Raw yesterday. Also, Backlash seems to be shaping up nicely.
 
Today I learned that Val Venis became a right winger and vaccine denier, screeching that Bray Wyatt's death will be used to encourage everyone to get a COVID shot. He's also anti-trans to the extreme.

Those few weeks he was in Right to Censor now makes so much more sense.

Does wrestling tend to be far right? I tend to lump it in with country music and NASCAR but I'm also going by impressions that are half a century old.

Yes and no...

If you actually listen to some of the top tier talent talk, they are among some of the most intelligent in show business. But then there are also those that are just testosterone fueled jocks.

Mick Foley, for example, is fairly progressive.

Kevin Nash is another that is (surprisingly) fairly progressive.

It’s a mixed bag like everywhere else. AEW has a trans woman as a wrestler but then has Chris Jericho too.

Most wrestling fans are actually pretty left leaning though.

Kane is the Libertarian mayor of Knox County, TN, and I fully expect him to make a run for Congress at some point. In addition to Kevin Nash, the Undertaker is another one who is left-leaning.
