Did I miss something? Are the Lakers down to two goalies?
No, they dressed all three goalies tonight.
Big win for the Lakers although certainly not an easy one. Pretty play on the Monardo PP goal. Faceoff win by Schofield back to Monardo and a quick shot low into the far corner. Easy put back goal by Barczuk after a Bruneteau shot went off the post. Monardo had quite a few scoring opportunities overall.
Roque changed the lines somewhat from the first few games. Campbell played with Schofield and Acton most of the time and although he didn't score he did put himself in position to get off a couple of decent shots. Monardo played with Cassiani and Radke quite a bit, but he did play on the PP with Schofield and Acton.
Not a lot of PPs in the game. On the Laker 4 on 3 PP midway in the third period, Trotman seemed reluctant to shoot the puck even though he's gotten off to a good start with a few early season goals. Puzzling.
BMW played well in net. He made some good saves, but did look a little shaky on some long shots. I thought the Colgate goalie actually looked more solid in net than BMW. Can't fault the goalies for any of the three goals in the game.
The Lakers definitely have some things to work on. One of the biggest is breaking out of their own zone. Passes aren't quick enough and are too predictable. Forwards aren't skating with enough speed to open areas to receive passes. The result is they are having trouble making up ice rushes too much of the time.
