Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Did anyone listen to the Laker Hockey Show last night? I couldn't find it online and was wondering what the coach had to say about last weekend and if there are any lineup changes or injuries going into this weekend series against Colgate. What were some of the questions that fans called in to ask him and what Crawford asked?
I wasted another 60 minutes of my life listening to that garbage. Crawford's got his head so far up Jimbo's butt it would take the jaws of life to free him! Jimbo and Crawford were "very happy with the effort" the team is "doing a great job" the underclassmen are playing "really good." These two gentleman only took ONE call from what is supposed to be a show that accepts fans questions. Some caller that sounded like he was a good friend of Crawfords asked a real hard hitting question about Penn State joining the league. I'll just let everybody ponder on whom that ONE question of the night was from.

Boot_Jim-Roque.........you might read Anchors away's post and then mine again. I'm sorry if my post is beyond you, but the discussion was about firing Jim Roque and all I was doing was to point out there are many facets of developing a coaching staff, and I did that without mentioning ducks once!!!

Can't anyone up there ask Roque why the hell his players never improve and if anything half get worse. Like I said,if Alaska Fairbanks can recuit better teams to the " call of the wild country, why can't Lake State get better recruits.

We can ask all we want but they screen all the calls and the question will never make it through. The only question they let through last night was from one of Crawfords buddies who I believe is a regular poster on here (and the question was about Penn State joining the league, oooohhhhhhh).

"There is a contact phone number on the web site:

The Soo Blue Liners was founded in 1982 for the specific purpose of supporting Laker Hockey. The organization provided team scholarships, team pictures, locker room decorations and other extras that the coaches desire. Since then, the Blue Liners have sponsored a variety of activities, including a softball game, the Blue and White Game, post game gatherings, cookie committee, 50/50 ticket sales, membership booth, noon pre-game luncheons, Christmas party, golf tournament and awards banquet.

Soo Blue Liners memberships are: $5 college students, $15 single members, $25 couples, $30 families. Membership applications are available at the Norris Center Ticket Office or by calling 906-632-1138."

I have called them, twice actually and I got no answer. I left a message about it and told them to call back my number.... and nothing

Klaker i am pretty sure the only trip is to northern this year. Go in the Blue line room this friday and make sure.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

It would be nice if they would put the podcast for the radio show up.
They're supposed to have it up the day following the broadcast but it looks like someone dropped the ball. I also wonder if they said anything on the broadcast about when they would start streaming the show, which will probably be whenever they get the WKNW website back up.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

As someone who remembers as one of his early memories of college hockey watching Lake State dismantle BU in the 94 title game, what is the consensus for why LSSU has fallen into such despair? It's too bad MTU and LSSU can't reclaim past glory as it is fun to see the small schools do well. That is one of the great things about college hockey. I mean what would happen if MTU, LSSU, NMU, UMD, Merrimack, Clarkson, St. Lawrence, etc played Notre Dame in college football or Michigan State in college hoops, but in hockey, they all have a shot and some of these small schools would be favorites against the big boys.

You could not have said it any better!

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

We know about your crush, Truth Squad. You have told us about it repeatedly. We know you miss him. Just be strong.

If you want to call it a crush than fine I call it a winning coach, championships and building a solid program. You people can make all the excuses you want, and you will continue to do so over and over again for this team and this regime, but the simple fact is Frank Anzalone built this program into the greatness that it was and was well on the way for a second time before the powers that be booted him out without reason or cause.

You saw the direction the team was heading, under his guys, when they made it to the Joe and it has been downhill since then, yet the majority of people on here want to take shots at Frank and what he did for your university up there and the program in general. He is doing fine and doing a great job in Quad City by the way. People love and respect his hockey mind, his work ethic, the product on the ice and a positive force in the community.

Miss him yet?

The Lakers must get at least a split this weekend. Hopefully Schofield and Trotman continue their hot starts. Does BMW start both games or does Beamer and K2 both play? Either way the defense and goaltending must improve or we stand no chance at Miami next weekend.

I think we may see K2 and/or Ravn in at least one of the games. Although BMW is undoubtedly the number #1 goalie and I expect to see him in the majority of the Laker games, K2 and Ravn need to get ice time since they will be the two main goalies next season. They need to get at least some experience this season.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

A non-conference match-up with Colgate and a road trip to perhaps the best team in the league Miami are in my mind warm-ups for two huge home series:

November 5-6 vs. Northern Michigan
November 12-13 vs. Ferris State

It will be crucial for the Lakers to collect lots of points in those 4 games as they battle two middle-of-the-pack teams on their own ice.

The Lakers are a much better team than they have showed. The haven't had a lot of time to prepare because of the early conference games and a Thursday night one. I think they are ready for a big 8 game stretch starting this weekend against Colgate.

Crawford has said this team is really good and they will win lots of games this season and I think they sweep this weekend, split next weekend and then clean up at home with four straight wins to go 7-1 in the eight game stretch.

Come on guys!

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

I'm glad the Lakers are at home this week end so I can go watch them; get tired, miss passes, sieve out, play terrible defense and not be able to score. It sure beats listening to The Supreme Minister of Propaganda Bill Crawford on the old radio. Gooooooooooooooooooooo Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
