As if anybody on the Right could stay hard.

If it's God's will for a woman to get pregnant, then it's God's will for some men's p*nis to be flaccid.

If they want to ban birth control, then Viagra and Cialis should be banned as well.

Model citizen.

The gravest threat to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton ‘s troubled career got underway Tuesday as the embattled Republican sat for an impeachment trial on charges of corruption and bribery that have shadowed one of state’s most powerful figures for years.

The fate of Paxton, 60, is in the hands of GOP senators with whom he served before winning a statewide race to take charge of the attorney general’s office in 2015.

I think we all know what happens now.

Billionaires, burner phones, alleged bribes: The impeachment trial of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is going to test the will of Republicans senators to oust not only one of their own, but a firebrand who has helped drive the state’s hard turn to the right for years.

The historic proceedings set to start in the state Senate Tuesday are the most serious threat yet to one of Texas’ most powerful figures after nine years engulfed by criminal charges, scandal and accusations of corruption. If convicted, Paxton — just the third official in Texas’ nearly 200-year history to be impeached — could be removed from office.

Witnesses called to testify could include Paxton and a woman with whom he has acknowledged having an extramarital affair. Members of the public hoping to watch from the gallery will have to line up for passes. And conservative activists have already bought up TV airtime and billboards, pressuring senators to acquit one of former President Donald Trump’s biggest defenders.

How corrupt must you be for the Texas legislature to work to remove a Republican true believer like this?

That's what I was thinking. I think this is probably a proxy fight between two corrupt halves of the TX GOP. They're so dominant in state politics they can actually afford to split on a lot of things and still beat the Dems.

I'll say this for LBJ. He played even dirtier than they. That state is not won by PhDs, but by lunchpail guys. Even Lincoln knew when to bribe.

We'll see what happens to this scum bucket.

I hope the judge reminds him or herself of how all his compatriots talked about how much they've learned and how wrong they were, then about faced and said they'd do it all again after sentencing.

F every single one of these pathetic traitors.

edit: now he's taking his turn about how wrong he was and how much he regrets his actions. He's so staggeringly full of shit.

If he's that sorry then he'll understand why he got the legal max.

The only thing the Right understands is force. Everything else -- morals, ethics, pride, guilt -- has zero cash value in the conservative mind. It's a rat's brain. It only responds to direct negative stimulae.

FAFO. And it establishes the precedent that the fomenters are more guilty than the poor losers who swallowed their load and did it.
