My wife was admitted to the hospital tonight with what is likely pancreatic cancer. Please pray for her in our time of need.
Just terrible news. You both are in my thoughts.

Did they give you IV too? Did you need like you peed the bed?Ugh. That is terrible. Wishing you and your family the best.

More tests today. Itching has gotten worse but everything else is better.
Chest X-ray, CBC, and another liver enzyme test.![]()

In serious news, hope you are feeling better and that things are improving.
It's one of the few tests that I have had that my patients endure (abdominal CT), so I always try to prepare them for the peeing the bed part (the few that I take that are awake anyway).Yeah that stuff was bizarre. Kinda cold then really warm. Everywhere. Instantly. OH MY GOD I HAVE TO PEE. NOW I NEED TO PUKE. Ok, it’s over. I guess I don’t.
I’m seeing a specialist tomorrow too. My latest panel had everything improving except for my ALT/AST which were worse. I’m just wishing this crap would heal up. Ugh. It’s so taxing on not just me but my family as well.
Fingers crossed the specialist will have some insight. For someone who seemed outwardly young and healthy in April, this must be frightening.Never really had a PCP since I was a kid. I basically went to whatever internal medicine doc I could see the earliest when I started to notice the jaundice. I had been under his care for the last three weeks.
I’m not really thrilled with him. But I should have asked for a specialist earlier. Never going back to him.

Thinking of you! Hope the specialist is a better fitYeah. Some days are pretty scary. There have been nights where my GF and I just hold each other. We’re trying our best to help each other through the mental aspect of all this.
I’ve been asking myself a lot of questions. What did I do wrong? Why me? Why now after I meet someone I want to spend the rest of my life with? It’s a dark road and I’m trying to avoid going down it. We’re trying to take it in stride.
It’s the first truly scary thing I’ve ever dealt with. It’s something I would wish on no one.
Holy moly. Saw a CNP specialist today and she was amazing. They ordered ALL of the tests. They took like 14 vials of blood and I had two MRIs today. The CNP walked into the office visit and already had a half page of notes and 20-30 questions. We spent almost 45 minutes talking and doing Q&A.
So they’re testing me for:
Diabetes (negative)
Celiac (negative)
Wilson’s
Hemochromatosis
Thyroid
Hep AB with the more detailed tests to determine if I’ve ever had those
Herpes 1&2
Autoimmune panel
Clotting
Lipid panel
Full liver panel again
And a couple of genetic deficiencies

So relieved that they're being wicked thorough! Was getting jittery running through possibilities not being addressed.
I should have said no to the CT scan in retrospect. I didn't realize it carried the radiation dose it did...
Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this. Praying for health and strength for you to help her through this.
