The GAME 2011-Counting for the very last time

NUProf

Colorado Cadets Fan
Time to put your thoughts, insights, and comments about the up coming contest. This game is big for both teams. Midd is slowly crawling back up the NESCAC standings and Norwich is hanging on in a first place tie with Castleton.

This game will also be a historical last - baring Middlebury quitting the NESCAC or NU being invited to join the NESCAC - this will be the last time that an NU/Midd game counts in the league standings. A bit of history there.

It also is being promoted as a Whiteout - everybody show up Friday wearing white. And so in the words of "the Chairman"

LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!

Re: The GAME 2011-Counting for the very last time

I hate to see the end of the inter lock....I first went to a Norwich vs Middlebury game in 1959. Every one I have been to has just been the best, win, lose or tie. No surprise to me that the Panthers are coming on, they have just to much talent to not.

I haven't seen as many NU Midd games as you have - I just keep getting this sinking feeling that somehow it will go the way of the Wadsworth Cup. I just hope not. It really doesn't seem to matter how well either team is doing, there's just an incredible amount of emotion and excitement that goes with it. It's the highlight of the season. Both teams need this one...

Looking forward to my first experience. Hoping it can replicate the atmopshere of Oswego/Platty and Elmira/RIT :)

Re: The GAME 2011-Counting for the very last time

More chatter for THE GAME?! Come on now...This isn't much fun yet.

Of course, I realize Middlebury has a bigger fish to fry currently with the Plattsburgh game looming tomorrow.

Given the weather forecast, it would seem that all of New England is experiencing a "white out".

A small cannon going off for every Norwich goal would seem to be more appropriate.

Fortunately, the big problem for Friday will only be finding a place to park. An 18 incher...meh...for some people big deal, for us, nothin' new, and I'm sure our crack ***'t SID has seen more. As for me, getting to work involves going from upstairs to downstairs.

The cannon is a good idea, but I think having Dex say he shoooooots .... a bunch of times will bring on the racket. The noise level during Saturday's comeback was really good.

These games are always special. The players will be into, the fans will be into it. Drop the puck...

I think incorporating a cannon into Kreitzberg would be a phenomenal idea for after goals.

The new guy has a good idea. Work on it would you? After all, they do it after touchdowns at the FB games. At the very least, a recording of cannon fire, or better a mini cannon firing from the walkway above section 11 or so.

I'm not sure if we'd be breaking some kind of code if we did it though. At the very least a recorded sound of cannon firing would be sweet I think.

Dex: He shoots!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Recorded Cannon Fire sound)

Crowd: He scores!!!!!!!

I think it would work quite well if timed right, but that's just me.

Re: The GAME 2011-Counting for the very last time

I like that a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've mentioned it to the people in charge. I'll keep on about it because I think once people know what's going on, it could work very well.

I believe there will be some white t-shirts availabe. I dont know if they are just plain white t-shirts or not. That was the original plan.
