So I still don't know what I think about ESPN having pro-Mexico announcers for their game. Seems a bit like having pro-Red Sox announcers on YES. Yeah, there's probably a ton of el tri fans watching, but it still didn't feel right.

I only had a few minutes free to glance at the TV screen so that was a bit of luck for me.

i was looking at the Netherlands uniforms thinking, "so L'Oranje is the new black" (okay so it's actually dark blue, but that spoils the pun...)

The officiating hasn't been good in any game so far.
Doesn't bode well for the whole tournament IMO.

I'd really like to see a few cards for "simulation" handed out during the group stage. It would really be great if Ronaldo got one vs the USA, eh?

The Spain-Chile match could become much more important, and the Netherlands-Chile match may have just lost some sparkle.

I've got it figured out. The referees are doing bad so Mark Geiger refs like normal doing a good job, gets the Final and everybody's collective head explodes at an MLS referee doing the World Cup Final.

I haven't seen a top-rated Spanish group perform so poorly against a northern European maritime nation since the Armada.
