If we can get past Belgium, I'm not really scared of either of these teams. Argentina has seemed like Portugal: One star, everyone else relying on that star.

Argentina has 6 goals so far, 1 is an own goal so they've only scored 5, and 4 are from Messi.

Yes, yes, that is a good point.

Which is why the Swiss might be more favorable to face. They don't necessarily have a breakout player, or any flash anywhere. They're rather, to blatantly and purposefully use this awful pun, neutral.

Dempsey played that role for Fulham on a few occasions when injuries called for it. I don't think it's his best role (I actually personally prefer him out left and drifting in rather than behind the striker) but it's not one he's entirely unfamiliar with.

do either of these teams look unbeatable? not saying we'll be in the semifinals or even the quarters but at least it's a favorable draw compared to the other side of the bracket

Is Aguero injured? I can't figure out why he isn't playing, if not; is Lavezzi really more likely to make something good happen for Argentina?

he was hurt against nigeria but if i have it right, he's available today as a sub. thought i heard one of the analysts say recently he doesn't like the idea of playing higuain and aguero together.

the past 15 minutes or so have looked more like a scrimmage than a game....white on offense, red on defense. Possession looks something like 85% - 15%.

Rodrigo Palazao into the the game. You may recall that his father Enrico once sang the Star Spangled Banner before an Angels game with Queen Elizabeth in attendance.

Pretty much. Argentina had that 10 minute stretch of pelting the Swiss, but other than that it's been all midfield action.

Now Argentina is too inept to set up anything and Switzerland looks too tired.
