****. **** it all.

Lemmy. Bowie. Now Prince.

Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Robert Smith, Stevie Wonder... everyone better look out. This is not a good year.

Re: The Dead Thread: Yep. Still Dead.

I'll be honest, none of these deaths have really moved me like a lot of people it seems. Never really a fan of Prince's music. I know I'm probably in the minority.

Use this as an opportunity to dig around for his lesser known stuff. Even more than most acts, Prince exemplifies the "Genesis Effect" -- his top 40 doesn't do the rest of his work credit.

Trust me -- he was the real, realer, realest sh-t.

My brother was a huge Prince fan, he graduated high school in '86, right at the prime of Prince's fame/career. He instilled into me an appreciation for his stuff. Cherry Moon was released that year, and during a road trip that June he, my mom, and I made to Florida and then Pittsburgh, I had to have heard that tape (remember those?) two dozen times or more.

I sent my brother a text that Prince died with a link to one of the news sites. He replied to me, "I need a personal day." The thing is, I can't tell if he's joking so much because his love of Prince's music is still tremendous.

#27 in Rolling Stones all time greatest artists...deservedly so. Good bye great man.

The Current is streaming Prince from 1pm to 10pm...starting with the beginning of his career and going to date.
