Re: The Dead Thread: Yep. Still Dead.

James Burke will explain it this Sunday on your local PBS station. :)

Who? I havent watched PBS since I was 15 watching Bob Ross :) (who is dead which makes it more relevant to this thread than random MASH episodes :D )

Re: The Dead Thread: Yep. Still Dead.

One of my all time favorite - if subtle moments - is when Hawkeye is directing a group picture while perched on a ladder. He tells the entire group to take two steps to the left, and once they've completed the move he asks them to take two steps to the right. I've used it several times myself. :D

Also some favorite Burns quotes:

Frank: That's not my department, sir - intelligence is something I try to avoid.

Frank: It's nice, to be nice... to the nice.

And from the politically incorrect department could a major network sitcom get by with a character called Spearchucker Jones in 2016?
Spearchucker didn't make it from the movie into even a single episode of the TV show, did he? I grew up with the show, and still enjoy watching most of it, but wouldn't pretend to have memorized much of it.

Bob Ross is now on Netflix. I turned on the first episode and my wife's jaw hit the floor. Apparently she never watched it growing up.

Former NFL coach Dennis Green.

Also the Stanford football coach from 1989 to 1991, who pulled the program from the lows of the post-Elways 80s back into bowl games and national rankings. Some of his players included Tommy Vardell, current US Senator Cory Booker, current Stanford coach David Shaw, and NFL HOF Ed McCaffery.

And his tenure will always be highlighted by the 1990 Big Game, commonly known the "Revenge of The Play": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEkXwQ_CmGw Stanford missed a 2 point conversion while down one with :12 left, and the Cal fans rushed the field. That resulted in a penalty on them and Stanford recovered the onside kick with good field position; a Cal penalty on the next play placed them into FG range, and Stanford made the FG with time expiring to win by two.

It's really too bad he cracked with the media like that. I think he was a pretty good coach, honestly. He deserves to be remembered for more than that.

It was pretty epic, though.

The Voice of BU, the EJHL, and numerous HS teams - Jim Prior.

Crap.
