The Amazing Race: Season 15

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Actually, for some reason he noticed the third hand for seconds and tried to use that for a long time.

But that was a brutal decision.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

But what put the nail in their coffin for me was the heckling of Mika. That's cute when it's trash talk, but dealing with somebody who was deathly afraid was garbage, particularly when they were home free anyway. I'd be on the lookout for seriously bad karma.

I agree. It was bush league and it knocked them down a good bit in my book. From a purely Machiavellian perspective, it was good because, well, it worked, and the remaining teams are unlikely to find out about it because the team they screwed is eliminated.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

I loved the Globetrotters convincing her not to go down. The race deserves that for the ridiculous 2:00 rule. They should've been able to just go right up there and pass them. Screw the moronic little Southern belle. I loved watching her break down. What a twit.

Now we just need Ken and Barbie to fall apart. That chick scares me, what with her not having any facial features. She's like a death mask.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

I thought the two minute rule was stupid too.

She should have had to have gotten right out of the way and let them go. What is this waiting crap.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

I know they do have limits on some where if you don't do it within a certain time frame then you have to let the team waiting go I think 2 minutes was the limit for that challenge. I remeber a fast forward onnce where the limit was something like 10 minutes and the one team just made it under the deadline before they would have forfeited to another team. I would like to know how long Mika was there before the Trotters showed up I am guessing it was quite a lenngth of time. I can't really fault the Trotters that much, they probably knew they were in last and if she went down the slide they were eliminated you can't blame them for trying to stay in the race.

The Globies trash talk. It's just how they roll. They probably always have, and I doubt they mean any ill will of it. I very seriously doubt they had any idea how bad her fear was. And I disagree with the comment that if she had gone down they would have lost. I believe, as I commented earlier, that they would have slid right down after them, and then easily won the footrace down the beach to Phil.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Just got around to watching the episode... Pretty ridiculous that she couldn't will herself to go down for a continued chance at $1 mil, but those fears can be tough to overcome. That looked like a pretty **** fun slide too:cool:

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Uh Oh Miss America can't count the bells. :o I am thinking tonight is a non elimination leg though.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

I wonder if they will be penalized for not riding the bikes? It's not like they are cheating to gain time it is slowing them down.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Everyone else gets it spot on, and Miss America comes up with... 43. I was impressed at their pluck this time around, I thought for sure that they'd completely implode after having to eat the fish.

The Globetrotters dancing was hysterical. They are my favorite team since the happy go lucky hippies from a 3-4 seasons ago.

It was time for the poker players to go. They were on borrowed time. I also loved, "Phil, we quit. But, we're doing that knowing that we gave it everything we had." Right, 'cuz you quit. They also got a gift when they were given the number of bells straight-up.

And when you can't get the bell to ring on the carnival game, stop. and. think. It's simple physics - with a longer stroke, the tall one would have gotten it no problem.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Two teams looked pitiful tonight and one got to stay. Miss America and hubby will probably be out next week unless it is a non elimination leg. There haven't been any yields so far I wonder if they have been eliminated. I believe this is only the second time someone has quit on a challenge and been eliminated. The two annoying brothers quit during a diggin challenge a couple of years ago.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

For those who have watched many of the seasons is it possible that this week would have been non elimination except for the fact that the poker girls never finished?

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Brian said that they would bring the bikes they borrowed right back. I hope they actually did. Also, how do you ride a bike in those crazy shoes!?

I don't know, I only remember one other challenge where somebody quit, Lance and his brother several years ago and they were far behind as well and they never stated whether that was a non elimination leg. I have seen messages left at challenges to report to the pitstop you have been eliminated, like the Gutsy Grannies who were hours behind all the other teams on one leg and The Guido's in the first Season who were hours behind the final two teams on the last leg. They got a note saying Rob and Brennnan have won the Amazing Race. That's the only season I remember the final 3 not finishing all together.

My family had exactly that discussion. Never quit -- for all you know, a team has fallen down a well or incurred a 75-hour penalty for mussing Phil's hair or Jerry Bruckheimer has deemed your boobs an essential production asset.

Bad to see them bring back the hay bale challenge, the highest frustration, lowest skill-to-luck ratio event in AR history.

Was that the season when the third place team didn't even make the same plane as 1 and 2 and were still in Indonesia when the winning team crossed the finish line?

They were in Alaska getting ready to spend the night in an igloo when they found out they had lost. I know they missed the plane Rob and Brennan and Frank and Marguerite had caught but unsure where they missed the plane. That is the only one I remember, being the first one they hadn't figured out how to keep everyone together, where the final 3 weren't close at the finish.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

One of the Poker Girls has a blog and says that because they failed to complete the challenge they got a 24 hour penalty.

Once the 30 minutes were up and the Yellow team were able to check in, the girls were eliminated.

So it wasn't going to be a non-elimination leg.
