The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

I will need to see the replay on the Ferriero slashing call, that really killed us.

He got Arnold pretty good on that play--looked like a good call. About the only thing Cody did out there that I noticed.

6) what the heck was going on with the NU section at the end, both taking the shirts off and chanting "i believe that we will win"

How is that a chant? Trying to picture it, but it's way too long.

9) look forward to two more great games this weekend everyone. go BC!

Will there ever be a more fitting "Where's your Beanpot?" chant than Friday at Conte?

P.S. How the heck did BU lose to Harvard?!

You didn't hear? It was an "embarrassing performance" from JackPa's team.

Harvard's RPI in NCAA Basketball is 44 out of 345. Harvard's RPI in NCAA Hockey is 50.....out of 58.

I don' think that diminishes the embarrassment that BC basketball must feel after having lost to Harvard three times in a row.

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

Scrap the consolation game already. I have no use for it.

anyone who works will have a pretty hard time getting to the consolation game. so you wont find me there, ever. further, if i'm going to watch the championship game later on, two full games of hockey are a lot to digest in one night like that. so yeah, i agree that the game is rather worthless. but the schedules are free for both teams, so what the heck, right.

that said, i do think the idea of moving the womens championship to 5 o'clock is a very interesting idea - and great promotion for the sport. not unlike HE choosing to have a women's game instead of NU men during the frozen fenway lead up.

Yeah, I forgot the Superfans filled four sections for the consolation game two years ago.

4 sections? how about the 6 that BC had full again last night (not that bu fans were there for that either); which was just like last monday when they outnumbered the fanboys as well.

but anyway, is your point that you agree with me that bu fans suck or that somehow 2 wrongs make a right? either way, i'll remember that we are your barometer the next time a fanboy tries to make some snarky comment about how bu has such great fans.

Dude, are you serious right now? You're comparing BC's crowd for the CHAMPIONSHIP to BU's crowd for the CONSOLATION? No one draws a crowd for the consolation game. Ever. And congrats on drawing a bigger crowd than BU last Monday. That makes it, what? Once in... forever? Seriously, what is your point here?

It's a great idea. But what if it goes into multiple OTs? TV people will throw fits if it messes up when the men's game is supposed to start.

no, you idiot. apparently your reading skills are as poor as your writing skills. i compared the attendance of the BC fans to that of the bu fans in the championship game last night because a) it was as arbitrary as your comment, b) last i checked, they had tickets for that game too. b) I figured since they didn't go to the consolation game, maybe they would go to the championship game (since they are such good hockey fans and all; otherwise, what a shame to waste your mommy and daddy's money like that.)

i have never mentioned the consolation game 2, 3, or 10 years ago because it was, and is still, irrelevant to my original post about last night.. (as was my last post and as was your pathetic attempt to drag BC into it to begin with) you were the one to bring up 2009 as if it somehow redeemed your fans yesterday. after all the angry little comments that constantly come out of you face painted miscreants, I wouldn't expect to secretly be your benchmark (I mean, if the BC fans jumped off a bridge, would you? because I could find someone willing to take one for the team) I guess I'm not really surprised though; after all, I can only imagine that rejection letter still stings deep.

lastly, i'm not sure how barely having more fans in any year is any consolation (get it?) when your school is twice as big and has no other relevant sports. but when your team is irrelevant, i guess you take what you can get.

Let's recap. You posted this because you felt the need to make one of your typical snarky, useless and unintelligent comments:

why should the team care if the fans dont???

I responded with equal snarkiness in this post to point out that BC didn't have fans for the consolation game two years ago, either:

Yeah, I forgot the Superfans filled four sections for the consolation game two years ago.

My point was that making any comment at all about consolation game attendance is stupid because none of the schools ever draw anyone for the consolation game. Somehow that didn't compute in your hollow head. Also not registering in that barren wasteland of a mind is the fact that by criticizing BU fans for not showing up at the consolation (which, as Agganis pointed out, you've now done more than once), you're also criticizing your own fanbase since they don't show up for that game when their team's in it either. But ZOMG1! BU has twice as many students and hockey's our third sport so it doesn't count!!11!!

Ahahahahhahahaha.

The gloves are off.

Over the last three years, the fans at BC have really come out for hockey, much more than the past. I guess the next time BC is in the consolation game, we'll see how many fans come out. The BU crowd at the Beanpot the other night was laughable. I know its only the consolation, but would BU draw such a pathetic crowd if they played Harvard at Agganis on a mid-week non conference game? I doubt it sells out, but there would be a lot more fans then there were the other night. It just shows BU fans to be frontrunners if you ask me.
