Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament
No. It doesn't. It shows 1) The casual fan doesn't care about a consolation game because they don't understand the PWR implications or anything like that and 2) A lot of fans have class and can't make it down to the Garden for a 4:30 game. Those are problems BU, BC and NU all face when it comes to the consolation game. That's just a fact. I've been to 8 Beanpots now and probably 4 or 5 consolation games, and I've never seen any team in the consolation game draw more than a few rows of students. The fact that you BC dolts seem to think this is only a problem for BU is laughable. It has nothing to do with how well the team draws for home games. A midweek game on campus at 7 is very different than a midweek game at the Garden at 4:30. I also find it hilarious that a BC fan is accusing BU fans of being frontrunners when you just posted this:
Gee, I wonder why that is...
Over the last three years, the fans at BC have really come out for hockey, much more than the past. I guess the next time BC is in the consolation game, we'll see how many fans come out. The BU crowd at the Beanpot the other night was laughable. I know its only the consolation, but would BU draw such a pathetic crowd if they played Harvard at Agganis on a mid-week non conference game? I doubt it sells out, but there would be a lot more fans then there were the other night. It just shows BU fans to be frontrunners if you ask me.
