I'm using that as my new sig! :p ;)

It just happens I have copyright so you'll have to pay me a $1 per post this year!:D

Or at the end of the year when makes make the NCAA's tournament and finishes as a top 3 team in Hockey East you'll have to say BobF was right and I never should have doubted him!:p

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

I don't know the split, but I would wager it is fairly close in regards to won/loss. Instead of pulling numbers out of thin air, why don't you actually find and post the numbers for the goals per game scored by Maine for each goalie?

Edit: Just to show you don't know what you are talking about 1/2 of the time.

Frank's record for the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 season was 29-8-5; Howard's was 28-10-3

Maine scored 3.16 goals a game for Howard and 3.88 for Doyle.

I don't know what I am talking about, or you inferred something that was not there?

The year that Jimmy had the "great stats", Maine scored:
2.27 gpg for Jimmy and 3.91gpg for Frank (the level of competition was not statistically different (17 wins per game for Jimmy's competitors, and 16 wins per game for Frankies)

almost double the number of goals scored for Frankie than for Jimmy... and the goal differential was
1.09 for Jimmy and 2.1 for Frank

I guess I will have to take a rain check on being wrong on this one.

now all we've got to do is shoot any detroit exec that goes anywhere near him while he is in town! :D ;)

I think if Nyquist wanted to sign with Detroit he would have most likely have signed already...but it's a possiblity that those execs wine and dine him while he's in town.

Top 3 in HE, wow, the confidence is oozing:eek:

Imagine the excitement in motor city when Detroit's own draft pick, Mr. Gustav Nyquist, is awarded the Hobey in their own town. :)

Such a great newz story....with a byline that the current brick wall in Detroit Red Wings net also is a Mainer. Locals will love it.

Sure........if it means a trip to the Frozen 4!

Strange. When Tim makes trips to the Frozen Four it just means he is winning two meaningless games....when other teams go it means everything....

So, Maine should petition the AHA for membership?

Do you believe if that happens he will be back in Orono next August?

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Nyquist is in the final 3 for Hobey, congrats Gustav!

AMEN!!!!

If RIT can do it........then Maine certainly can!

They obviously are doing something right. They beat Denver and UNH on their way to the Frozen Four. I hope they win the whole blasted thing frankly.

Had we not finished the regular season 2-6 over our last eight games, we would have been this year.

Hey Wally one thing we all should have learned during the Walsh years is a Hockey East regular season banner means squat! Look how few regular season titles Maine has compared to BU, BC, and UNH. Maine Hockey is about winning championships! Why should I set the bar high for the regular season?

All I am saying is we'll be stronger in Hockey East than last year, and we'll make the tournament. That is what we should expect each year and we have had a 3 year hiatus. In the future I expect us to be back among the top 4 in the league and in the tournament 75% of the time. I think those are realistic expectations for Maine Hockey!
