HIM-OI has eliminated hot breakfasts for over 2,.500 GI's in forward areas in Afghanistan. Is this really where we should be cost-cutting?*

*As ex-AF, I was proud of the fact that they opened the first hot kitchen during Operation Desert Shield. With accompanying news footage of guys from all services side stepping through the line for a meal. A freshly made omlette, with sausage and biscuits surely beats the h*ll out of an MRE!

He needed me to put him in his place. Happy to do so free of charge!

Bottom line on redistricting is simple. In the last election Obama won by 4 points and 5 million votes. Yet on a Congressional district basis Mittens would have won the election. That's gerrymandering. I'm not accusing the GOP of doing anything underhanded. All of their efforts were done in compliance with federal law, and as a Dem I say don't get mad, get even. However, only a fool would mistake one good election (2010) which luckily coincided with the 10 year requirement to redraw districts with some sort of GOP mandate. The party is as popular as jock itch. In a fair district election, they'd be screwed. No worries though, as the utter idiocy of the Boner, Ryan and Cantor show will most likely ensure a Dem President to succeed the O.
I think the same thing was said about the successor to Slick Willie. What should have been, by your standards, a slam dunk, wasn't.

Let's see who runs (the race should start percolating in about a month or so?) before anyone starts making predictions. But it's still going to come down to the same states as it has for the last few elections. Nothing else is going to change for at least 12 years. By then the reconquista will be complete in the SW and the Dems should have a perpetual lock due to the flow of goodies from the Federal coffers. We'll be bankrupt, but you will feel good about it.

go ahead.. get out a ruler and a pen and draw up MA with straight lines and right angles. until then, stop pretending it's the other guys.

I would be happy to...cept that nobody has shown me that semi automatics or high capacity clips are better for hunting. If they're not better for hunting, but better for mass killing rampages...what's the point?

So what percentage of these supposedly better semi automatic hunting rifles are actually 'better'? Would you say 70%? Let's see...

Hi. Hope I'm not interrupting one of your big land swap deals nor one of your business modernization seminars nor a spin around a supposedly hipsterless Uptown nor a skate out on ye olde family farm pond, but while you're in the linking mood how about one that validates your nine campers killed by stray hunting bullets in California claim? Please have the link directly address your "most recently reported six months" claim.

Buck up or shut up, buttercup.

You've got the info and the source. Not wasting further time on your incompetency.

You've always been waay too obsessed with me. This is not life. This is a message board. Get over it.

Soooo, you don't have the link he's asking for? Good to know. Though, I'm not surprised at all that you were caught pulling facts out of your ***. Typical.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 2 - Amensty for Some, Miniature AR-15s for Others...

Both parties gerrymander to their advantage. The GOP has an advantage in results due to a combination of timing (winning more state houses in 2010 let them draw most of the lines) and possibly effectiveness. As a result, the composition of the House skews more GOP than their actual vote count would merit, even if you allow for some artifacts of population distribution. Why is this a difficult concept to accept? Saying that it is so doesn't in any way invalidate the GOP's majority in the House, and it doesn't change the motivation of any individual Congresscritter to try to protect his/her/its own seat.

The most you can say is that claims to any sort of pro-GOP mandate ring hollow given the overall voting.

Exactly, and well said. Not sure why righties are all hot and bothered by this statement. GOP hasn't done anything wrong, but simply put they can thank their current House majority to redistricting. Does that worry me? No, because if the GOP keeps their record unpopularity coupled with the fact that there aren't too many more Dem seat pickups for the taking (a guy in GA and another in UT) means they're most likely at their high water mark for some time. Even better as they're forced to raise taxes and cut military spending while passing liberal social legislation on immigration and guns, I can easily see the party fracturing even further much like we've seen in Senate races.

so how did the unpopular folks get their seats? they drew the maps up? ok.
how did they get the right to do that? they had majorities in state houses? hmm, really?
how did they get majorities if they are unpopular? they gerrymandered and got their seats, oh?

You are drunk, riight?

No, I think he really thinks it's a chicken and egg thing.

He doesn't realize that we recognize 2010 was a wave election that happened to coincide with reapportionment, and that 2012 would've seen even more of the tea partier's kicked out (the tea party caucus fell from 62 to 49, or something like that) but for the gerrymandering caused by said redistricting.

Complex much? Link to nine campers in California killed by stray hunting bullets, please.

Since you're dumbfoundingly slow, we'll go through this step by step: You made a claim. Due my work history I knew enough to figure it had to come from either the California Department of Fish and Game or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. A thorough search of both sites yielded nothing. Since I've spent more time in the Sierras than you've spent anywhere outside of that kaleidoscope you call a mind, and I'd rather not be hit from a stray round out of a Marlin 30/30 while gallivanting through California, I asked for clarification.

So surely this shouldn't be so hard. Link, please. I'm merely looking out for my own safety here. Help a guy out.

It's not like the restructuring wasn't pointed out as it was happening and the reasons for it were obvious. And it's not like there still aren't plots in the works to rig national elections.

Republicans aren't smart enough to buy the voters like Dems are

Like the article writer, you buried the lead.

You don't live in a country that rewards majority rule. The founders, in their wisdom, put in a system to protect te republic from such a fiasco.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 2 - Amensty for Some, Miniature AR-15s for Others...

So, here's a question... like the left has been using Sandy Hook to their advantage to push gun control, why is the right not using the Super Bowl to their advantage to combat the EPA?

Do as I say, not as I do...

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE

SUBJECT: Determination with Respect to the Child Soldiers Prevention Act of 2008

Pursuant to section 404 of the Child Soldiers Prevention Act of 2008 (CSPA) (title IV, Public Law 110-457), I hereby determine that it is in the national interest of the United States to waive the application of the prohibition in section 404(a) of the CSPA with respect to Libya, South Sudan, and Yemen; and further determine that it is in the national interest of the United States to waive in part the application of the prohibition in section 404(a) of the CSPA with respect to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to allow for continued provision of International Military Education and Training funds and nonlethal Excess Defense Articles, and the issuance of licenses for direct commercial sales of U.S. origin defense articles; and I hereby waive such provisions accordingly.

You are authorized and directed to submit this determination to the Congress, along with the accompanying Memorandum of Justification, and to publish the determination in the Federal Register.

BARACK OBAMA

Ok, I give up. What the fark does the EPA have to do with the Super Bowl?

I'm pretty sure I'll regret asking, but this is a new one...

"It's a government owned stadium, powered by heavily regulated electricity, with 26,000 LED lights, pushed by green energy zealots... what could go wrong?" Here's a report from energy.gov; the site making it available is the source for the quotation.

I don't know what's worse, that you're blaming the EPA for a power surge or that you're implying a 34 minute delay to a football game is the equivalent of 20 kindergartners getting massacred.

Actually, I do know what's worse. And I already regret asking for the explanation.
