Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

I couldn't find the link anywhere in the BU/ME thread, do you have the All-Access link?

Google is your friend.

Google'ing "all-access maine hockey" returns this thread. Does that mean there is a rip in the space/time continuum

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

This is the first time I am getting to see Maine play all year and they look terrible. Maybe they are just having a bad game but what I have seen through 2 periods is not impressive. Darling does not look good and is giving up some tasty rebounds. And the defense looks horrible. Most shocking for me is that Nyquist hasn't impressed me at all. I have heard such great things about him but, at least in this game, he can't stay on his feet, can't protect the puck, stickhanles too much and looks slow.

I really hope it is just a bad night and this team is more talented that what they are showing because based on this performance I can't see them going far.

Definitely not catching the Black Bears' best performance tonight. Nyquist IS all he's cracked up to be and more (see my user name...I like him), and Idk what's up with Darling. See the Bears at home (if you can), their performance at the Alfond is night and day from road games. Hopefully they can step it up here in the third and play like the tournament team we all know they are.

Sirman's bad. He can't play another minute this year. This is a coach who benched Matt Lundin when he was leading the nation in GAA and SV% and he's throwing a guy who's sub-890% for his career out there.

After tonight Sirman has a save % of about .823 an absolutely horrid number. Based on Whitehead's history of handling goalies he'll probably start him tomorrow night.

He better not start Sirman. Anyone know why Darling was benched for the start of the third?

Whitehead has no beeping clue that's why. It was a 2 goal game and Maine still had a chance. That son of a you know what better not get a contract extension.

He wasn't playing well? The 2nd goal was really soft and the 3rd should have been covered up, but he looked like Patrick Roy compared to Sirman.

He still gives us the best chance to win, especially in a 2 goal game where we still had a chance. Instead, Whitehead loses confidence in Darling, and Darling loses confidence in himself for the future. Shi tty move there Tim.

I agree he gives Maine the best chance to win they haven't won a game with anybody else in net this year.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Well, Sirman left the ice in the 3rd period with the look of someone with a concussion. He looked totally dazed from the kick in the head by Bonino. I hope he is all right.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

This was not Maine's night. BU was really aggressive in attacking Maine's PP. It appeared on television that BU was a little quicker to the puck and Nyquist was neutralized. Even with these weaknesses, Maine had a shot at winning with some better defense and goal tending. BU is a team to be reckoned with down the stretch. Here's hoping for a split tomorrow night.

Defense was awful tonight. Better hope those guys can sweep the puck out from the front of the net tomorrow if Maine has any chance of winning. BU is without a doubt a team to be reckoned with...very scary. I can easily see them finishing with a 2-3 seed in the conference the way they are playing now.

Everytime we do the trap we are on our heals. The Maine game is the strong forecheck to create th turnovers. Why back up and let BU come a us?

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Parker can coach circles around TIMMAY.....always has, always will.

I'm more worried about HOW Maine lost than the fact that they lost. TIMMAY's handling of the goal tending situation leaves a lot to be desired.......and BU's speed is a HUGE concern going into tomorrow night's game. But I predicted a split and if they can somehow manage the win tomorrow night......all is well.

:D Tim has a hard time with Goalies. Maybe Scott tweaked his knee again? or Tim thought the game was done?
The D was caught flatfooted all night, BU blew by them at will and thats the same thing we all saw against UNH except Darling made the saves.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Timmay trying to outcoach Parker.....haha...that aint gonna happen.

I'd say he tried to jump start the team....but Sirman not quite ready to handle the upper echelon of HE yet. He did get his bell rung good though.

Looks like BU just neutralized Nyquists line because they didnt much for good looks at the net all night long . BU's a good team, and Maine's a step behind them in talent. I think Maine will have its hands full trying to lock up that final 4th position as it looks like BU is certainly capable on going on a run here. Sure would be nice to get some points out of this weekend though.

And yes, Timmay doesnt have a clue on how to properly handle his goalies.
