maine also got some good coverage in the inch podcast... starting sround 58 minutes in if you want to skip the bulk of it...

I hope recent results and opponents' respect don't go to their heads at all on Friday. This is going to be a battle.

I don't think it will be going to their heads, and I believe they know they will be in for a battle this weekend. BU is still a dangerous team, certainly not devoid of talent. I believe da Bears will be ready to play this weekend.

Was that the game where a guy named Corkum blasted a guy name Bennett into the sin bin, skates up?:D

You know, I dont remember that but thats not surprising :) Bennet, Boback and Gudreau.......Bennet was the big mf. :D

Haven't all Maine fans been subject to the same games you have? Somehow I managed to not throw stuff on the ice.

Good point Wally! As someone who was sitting underneath these MORONS and had stuff dropping all around me and some young kids I was quite disappointed by these antics. And as someone who was quite rowdy, one of the first in line, lost his voice yelling at refs, I have to say not once did I EVER think of throwing anything "except a hat" on the ice.

Don't give me crap of waiting for this! My senior year Maine won ONE game in the ECAC all year! Acting like it is some kind of right to passage that is deserved! I was more concerned during warm-ups before the game when students in the non-mainiak section fired a puck at a UNH player. As a result UNH players deliberately flipped pucks up in the balcony. Good way for someone to lose some teeth! Be smart, and NEVER throw anything on the ice except a hat. The broom thrown with 10 minutes left and a 4-2 lead was idiotic. I have seen 2 goal leads blown in 20 seconds, hell Maine was down 2 and tied it in less than a minute that night.

Have a great time up there, most of us old folks would love to trade places, but as bad as fans are with there cheers at other Hockey East rinks, nobody is throwing stuff! Maine fans are trumpeted around the league as the best and most knowledgeable don't ruin the reputation that we worked hard to establish!

See everyone that makes the trip this weekend!

Yes, it was. What a sight! I mentioned that to Coach Corkum once, and he said that he and Bennett are good friends.

Here's a "blurb" in today's BDN that aggravates me, but I may be over reacting. The University of Maine's Operation Community Support will be held February 20 in a game against UMass-Lowell. The University would like to provide tickets for sevicemen and women (along with families), tickets to the game. Maine hockey season ticket holders are asked to donate their tickets and buy available tickets for $10.00 at the group rate. I am not against providing tickets for military personnel. They make huge sacrifices for our country. But if the University was truly committed to this charitable endeavor why wouldn't they give away all the unsold seats rather then ask their fans to support the program. It just seems like a boondoggle to me. All of the loyal Maine hockey fans support the charity and the University takes all the credit for it. :(

I agree with you in principle. The only thing I can hope is that the UM athletic department is then donating the $10 you bought for the miltary's tickets to a good cause (USO, etc).

I was similarly upset when AT&T ran a thing after Haiti saying text words something to such and such number and make a $5 donation to Haiti then they said "normal text message rates apply." If they wanted you to donate, they should have also donated the text messaging charge.

Exactly. They (AT&T), generated money for themselves from a catastrophe. Only in America. ;)
