Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Who's looking for balance? If the State of Maine pays me one hundred fifty thousand dollars a year more or less to do my job, I best be doing it properly. Based on on ice and off ice performance for the past coupla years, Timmay has not been doing his job for which he is well paid.

With all those bridge jobs you guys have been landing, you must be in that range! :D

What a great weekend for Maine. I hope we had some recruit in to watch the sweep. :)

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

A few scheduling tidbits for next season.......the Florida College Classic teams will include Miami and St. Cloud (with Cornell and Maine of course).....

http://www.floridaeverblades.com/fanzone/college/

Add to that 2 games at Michigan State and 2 home games with North Dakota (Oct.22 & 23) and Maine could have the toughest OOC schedule in the country next season. As of right now every team on the OOC schedule is in the NCAA Tourney!

Thank you. That is one amazing schedule for next season.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Northeastern's win over Harvard last night moved them back into the top 25 in the RPI and gave Maine another comparison win. The additional win has Maine in a tie with Colorado College for 7th (technically ahead of CC on the tie-breaker)

i think in the end, maine won't get the benefit of these comparisons. NU has a murderous schedule to finish the season with two game sets against, Umass, BC, UHN, and BU. They would probably need to split their remaining games to have any chance of remainign a TUC. I just don't see it happening. Meanwhile, Lowell finishes with two each against BC, Maine, Providence, and Vermont. ot as tough as what NU is facing, but given what we know about BC, Maine and Vermont, and Beaudry's ability to steal games, they could go 2-6 in their last 8 and I wouldn't be surprised.

hopefully both teams will remain TsUC, but something teels me we're going to see one, if not both drop out

BUT
NU took BU's spot, Maine moved into a tie for 7th, but I don't think it was by picking up a point ( I think CC lost one).

what are the criteria for being a TUC?
I thought it was all teams at .500 or better, but last week BU was a TUC at one game under .500.
Is it simply the top 25 teams?

also, watch closely for big swings when Union hits their 10th game against TUCs, and for when Bemidji hits their 10th... Ferris State got nailed bad when they played their 10th and their terrible record was held against them.

one more question, what happens if a team never plays a 10th TUC? Is that state never counted, or will it be counted at the end of the year, no matter what?

For someone who knows everything, you sure ask a lot of questions...

The TUC is the top 25 of the RPI, and changes constantly.
You must have 10 TUC for that to count in a comparison. It is doubtful BSU will make it. If they don't, the TUC record is not counted at all. BSU wants it to count because they have a great record.

For this and any other questions, check out the bracketology thread.

well, for what it's worth, I knew that you would answer the questions, AND I knew that you would begin with that very snide comment...

whoda thunk it?

It must be a terrible burden to know everything.

I welcome disagreement, I do not welcome idiocy shrouded in superiority "because I am an airline pilot and therefore I know more than you"

You're going to get hammer punched.
