Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

170-200 lb safety is not going to arm wrap gronk and tackle him. Fact

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

The D is doing well, Brady and the play calling suck

*** McDaniels ??? Go no huddle because it works and more effective when the offense is stagnant. Some of his calls are absolutely terrible plays to call and headscratchers. Please have someone else do this job because he is terrible.

Too bad or else you're going to have this problem of horrific injuries to all receivers who are prone. On that play there were 2-3 guys around him. This is just not right having this allowed and we all know the consequences of hits to the knees like that. We talking about limiting concussions and major crippling injuries to the game.

The calls were a mystery at times. They had a great WR screen called and the DE was allowed to penetrate, so Brady short hops the pass. The line created some of the innacuracy. On at least one play the receiver just blew it...that play was the one where Brady scrambled forward, looked like he was going to run and then threw it into the ground near Amendola. Replay shows as Brady scrambles, Amendola stays right behind the LB. I suspect Brady's frustration was "go left, go right, but don't ***** stand behind the guy!!"

One thing Welker's soccer experience probably helped with was the movement necessary to open up passing lanes in small spaces.

If Amendola makes a definitive move in one direction or the other, it is likely a completed pass...drifting doesn't create separation.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Given that the Pats chances just went out the window with the Gronk injury, its time to go no-huddle all game and just try to win a shoot-out in the playoffs. The D can be counted on to make a stop once in awhile but they need the O to put up 30 a game. Think along the lines of the SEC championship game, where both teams gave up even trying to play D. ;) Really, they've got nothing to lose at this point.

Also I would implement button hook or comebackers, and a safety valve pass to the back, if Brady needs a quick outlet if the he has no time to wait for someone to be open.

Looks like the Maine boy Mulligan has some athletic ability, time to go to him instead :)

Bar I was watching the Pats game in also had the Denver game going, andthere was one play where Welker headed downfield, looped around and behind the linebacker in zone, and then just sat in the open area between the two linebackers and in front of the safety, wide open. Of course Manning got the ball to him there.

I still don't understand why the Pats just didn't give him whatever he wanted. He's that valuable a player. Manning must love every single day he gets to line up with him in the offense.

They thought Hernandez was coming back. BTW Welker got another concussion by the same guy that took out Brady knee, Welkers Knee,Ridleys head etc

You don't have to play flag football, man up and tackle chest to chest like the old days. The way it sounds now from reports, it looks like the end of his career the severity of his injuries. Congratulations TJ that was a poor excuse to justify and to tackle like that, you knew very well what could happen and you did it. The NFL is just as responsible and stupid for these selective rules that affect the game for worse.

What is worse ? Being a vegetable from head shots and not be able to do a desk job or be a cripple for the rest of your life ? Change the rules that make it safe for players, no head shots and knee shots. If you end a guys career knowing full well what can happen, then suspension for a year at least. Now you have to think about it.

Welker got head shot tackle and another concussion already. When does it end ? With his life or when he gets old, he can't function anymore to enjoy old age ?

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Apparently NBC and the NFL think the same of the Pats chances as many of us do. I can't remember the last time the Pats were flexed out of prime time, being replaced by the likes of Bears-Eagles. Of course part of it is the Ravens fault also.

Not sure why the Bears, or the Eagles, get so much prime time coverage. Granted they represent large cities, but does anybody outside of those areas really care about either one of them? Its like how we keep getting Dallas games on TV constantly. I've got news for the networks, Tom Landry and Roger Staubach, nor Troy Aikman or Emmet Smith, aren't walking through the door, so no more Cowboys please.

I have to admit that I enjoy watching the Cowboys lose more than any other team. It's especially gratifying when they lose in historic fashion, for example threatening the record for first downs allowed, a record which they themselves set earlier in the year. And it will continue that way until Jerry Jones either sells the team or fires his GM. Hard to believe that anyone could make me sympathetic with a Ryan brother, but I think designated scapegoat Rob deserves a good laugh.

I don't know if he does it anymore but my favorite losses watching the Cowboys are the ones where Jerry comes down from the Owner's Box and stands on the sidelines. I love that.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

There was a time I liked watching the Cowboys now I want Tony Romo to make as many mistakes in a game as possible, just so I can hear ESPN talking heads say what a great QB he is and it isn't his fault. Cowherd might as well live in Romo's large intestine

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

y'all are funny, but if the patsies played the cowboys - mookie would be pulling for the patsies :D

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Who've thunk -- Pats have a shot at top seed in the AFC now if they win out. Without Gronk, not sure they can, and if they do not sure it matters, but ya nevah know.

I was thinking the same thing watching that game last night. Its nice that they're in place for the #1 seed, but I'm not sure I see them winning out. Having said that, they could also lose a game and so could the teams chasing them, so its still possible (I believe they have tiebreakers over everybody but Cincy, and I wouldn't be too worried about going into Cincy for a game as opposed to going to Denver or KC).
