The 2013 New England Patriots

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

What was his excuse the first nine times they lost?

And they were winning the first half. I don't buy any of this crap. And not a Pats fan (although not a hater, either)

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Looks like the Texans are a pretty easy team to figure out no matter what time of the game it is. :D

I'm more worried somebody is going to watch the Auburn game, and then start doing that crazy triple option that they have for either a hand-off, a QB scramble or a dump off pass. Given the Pats problems with the run, it might be the first time some team gains 1000 yards rushing in one game.

PS - I'm also glad we're not playing the Vikings this year. Bad as they are, they'd give up 500 yards to Purple Jesus.

As someone who owns AP in three fantasy leagues, I don't see a problem with this. :)

We all knew that the rest of the league was going to be annoyed after Spygate, but 5 years later? In a game against a 2-9 team?

I'm sure the White Sox deal with 8 Men Out frequently...

Funny thing is, they'd probably give up 500 yards to AP and win the game 35 - 33* (defense would stiffen in the red zone, they'd stack 11 men in the box, Vikings can't pass, so they'd settle for 11 field goals)

The White Sox make the World Series about every 50 years and they screwed that up by winning last time.

The whole interview is hilarious. The guy was either joking or he sounded really dumb, even for a football player. He made reference to "Tonestradamus".

The D is doing well, Brady and the play calling suck

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

at least mookie doesn't have to listen to anymore crying about ref's calls. those two gifts in the final 90 seconds were absolutely ****ing embarrassing.

i'd almost bet refs were on take.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Getting tired of the "well you made targeting the head illegal, so I had no choice but to aim at the knees" story. He had the option of a clean tackle and chose to target the knee. Yeah, if he came in heads up, put his helmet on the ball and wrapped up it is possible he wouldn't have made the tackle.

Injuries that are unavoidable are "that's football"...trying to make a clean tackle and seeing what happens..."that's football".

As we see with acrobatic plays every weekend, these guys can control their bodies, in milli-seconds. It is a conscious decision to target the knee of a guy looking for the ball, not just dumb luck or unavoidable contact. And, while it may not be illegal, it isn't necessary either.

If it was a lineman or any other sport, that is considered a dirty play to take someone's knees out. We all know the consequences if you're hit in that area and often a career ending play or at least major surgery to repair the damage before attempting to come back. This is a matter of semantics and we all know this BS and hyprocracy. This technique should be illegal too just like head shots and force you to tackle chest to chest. BB gave him the dirtiest look his way after that hit.
