The 2011 New England Patriots

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

You forgot Ocho, he is going to catch 5 passes on Saturday
I don't know when, but my thought also is that they are going to at some point unleash Ocho during the playoffs. Opponents have been lulled to sleep with no action coming Ocho's way. I see a few bombs in the near future.

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

As a Patriots fan who grew up witnessing the annual ritual of a ball-crushing loss at Mile High, that was a very satisfying victory.

Dear NFL,
Just give us the Super Bowl trophy right now.

Signed,
New England Patriots.

I don't think Ocho made the field yesterday:D

As good a trashing as you'll ever see, both sides of the ball, special teams, whatever. Was only wishing Tom got one more TD pass to some other receiver but Bill took his foot off the gas.

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

Yesterday was as perfect a matchup as the Pats could hope to have. Denver's pass defense hasn't really been any better than New England's. The playoffs will "get real" next weekend, though. Whatever happens today.

I'm not making Super Bowl plans just yet.

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

Who are these guys playing defense for the Pats?

I was thinking the same thing! They ought to have a chance to replicate this performance next week as either Houston or Baltimore doesn't have a great offense.

Solid win by Pats. I still can't see a team with their porous defense going all the way, but who knows.

I dont think Houston or Baltimore have an offense on the level of NE, GB, NO but jesus...those are three very good offenses.

Both teams have much more explosive and potential nightmare matchups caliber players than Denver.

Ray Rice and Arian Foster are both top 5 if not top 3 NFL running backs and can hurt you in the passing game and running game.

Baltimore's defense and maybe the Giants' defense are the only defenses left that can probably limit the Patriots to less than 30 points. Either could beat the Pats on the right day.

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

New England's best defensive player is Tom Brady.

If the Pats get off to a quick start, it makes it a lot easier for the defense to pin their ears back and play the pass. Especially when the opposing QB has, ahhh, limited skills and a depleted receiving corps (that wasn't all that deep to start).

There's no reason to think New England can't do it again. Houston's QB is unproven and Joe Flacco has been ordinary on the road, to put it charitably. But those teams also have much more ability than Denver to prevent that quick start.

I'll take the Pats against either the Texans or Ravens, but I wouldn't put money on them.

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

Hope the Ravens don't think Brady is going to throw wounded ducks like TJ was doing all day.

What a shame looks like Ed Reed hurt himself on the hail mary

If they can stop the running game and make Flacco beat them, I like our chances.

Not impressed with Baltimore's passing game which consists of lobs down the sideline and screens.

Same recipe. Get an early lead and turn it into a shootout.

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

Should be an exciting week. And the two "sure things," NO and GB, are done.

Watching the GB-NYG game: How funny that a make-believe personal foul, on top of a non-fumble fumble, helped mighty 15-1 Green Bay stay within three touchdowns in a home playoff game. :) Maybe now Woodson (and to be fair, others have been far more critical than he has) can stop crying about a 100% correct call, made in complete accordance with a rule that exists today and is fully supported by the Competition Committee and a majority of owners, which was made ten years ago this week. Hahaha . . .

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

I'm disappointed you guys didn't get 100 yesterday. :D But thanks for taking care of that menace.

it is one thing to do battle with the angels of heaven, quite another to put up 100 on them. We already saw what they did to the Bosox in September, no sense antagonizing them further and becoming victim to another plague, or David Tyree catch.
