The 2011 New England Patriots

Re: The 2011 New England Patriots

Not necessarily an easy game for Pats. If they (Denver) can beat Pitt, even though Roethlisberger was less than 100% with his bad ankle, Denver can give our Pats a run for their money on Saturday. That Denver fumble allowed Pitt to take game to OT. The last game at Denver is history and this is a new game and what happened last game between these 2 teams may not have an effect on this game. If Tebow and McGahee run wild on the Pats D, it could be a close game. Hopefully Pats offense will blow them out but you never know and BB is well aware of his team possibly being complacent and underestimating a team like Denver to pull it off. Afterall, they were 8-8 coming into the playoffs and just upset Pitt who did beat the Pats this season.

I'm not looking past Denver, but I will say I don't get the Steelers gameplan. Any, and I mean any, NFL QB can hit wide open receivers. They wouldn't make the practice squad, let alone be a starter, if they couldn't. I can't see the Patriots, even with their porous secondary, not keeping the safeties back to guard against the 40 yard pass play. Had Pittsburgh let their D line do the job, instead of playing the safeties at the line all day, Polamalu may have had 3 picks with all those high floaters Tebow was throwing up.

Key for the Pats is no turnovers. Brady has thrown passes to Champ Bailey in the playoffs before, and he needs to avoid that now. I forsee a similar gameplan where the Broncos are forced to pick their poison between Gronk, Hernandez, and Welker. They can't guard them all one on one, so somebody's going to be open. I'm also hoping Mark Anderson has a big game with the pass rush.

You forgot Ocho, he is going to catch 5 passes on Saturday

Ok, so Tebow makes it to the endzone, goes down on one knee to thank his Lord and Savior - does this constitute going to the ground for "excessive celebration"? Will the referee have the courage to pull out the laundry on Tebow and risk eternal darn-nation?

Sorry if this has been discussed before......

I'm struck by how many people care way too much about this

I actually think the rule allows people to go to the ground for religious reasons.

It's such a screwed up rule anyways. As long as players don't taunt or delay the game, let them do whatever the hell they want!

So Stevie Johnson should have just claimed his religion requires him to wish a Happy New Year to as many people as possible. ;)
