The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

He earned the right to spike the ball. His old employer tossed him under the bus instead of taking responsibility or his own bad play. I still think Steve's a jerk, but less of a jerk than Eldrick.

In the words of Big Shaq "Tiger... tell me how my azz tastes!"

2 wrongs don't make a right though. Stevie needs to have some class and be the bigger man and let things go. He picked up another bag right away for a player who has a lot of potential to be a solid player (as if we really expected Stevie would be sitting in the gallery for a while). I would love to see Tiger and Scott be in a pairing for next weekend, that would make for just a little bit of drama.

True, but I do enjoy Eldrick getting his comeuppance and having to harvest the bitter fruit he planted.

This...

Not to mention, it's not like Tiger up and fired him without cause. Stevie had a financial decision to make and I don't feel the least bit bad for him that Tiger demands 100% commitment and loyalty from his caddy. It sounds like they had grown apart over the last 2-3 years anyway, so that's that.

Let's be honest here. The only way those two got along so well for so long is probably because they're both *******es. They were likely the golf equivalents to the playground bullies for most of a decade. Fark them both, and if they snipe away at each other as they fall into irrelevance, all the better.

Unfortunately, Adam Scott isn't going to be the type of player that will allow Steve to fade away.

I'm only siding with Steve because Eldrick refuses to own up to the fact that it's his own doing that he's a middle of the pack player.

Eldrick needs to follow this advice.

If he was his swing coach, I might buy into that. A caddy obviously plays a significant role, but it wasn't his caddy that made him the best player in the world for several years running.

Don't get me wrong - Tiger showed his true self but I have hard time believing that if he's done it will be due to the loss of his caddy.

Big fan of the Adam Scott win. Picked him in my golf pool, should move me up into one of the money spots.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

Reached the final four of our mens league match play tournament. Won my quarterfinal match 2&1 despite playing poorly and having to give 11 strokes.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

Tiger is continuing to free fall after he made a good start. It's just so shocking to watch him become the shell of the golfer he once was.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

We (myself, wife, daughter's boyfriend & his brother who was a last minute fill in for my daughter) played out of our minds and won the local foundation's scramble on Friday with -14. I stuck one 2 foot to the left of the pin on the hole-in-one hole just missing a new Cadillac. Best part of it all was we buried the stacked team of people we normally golf with by 3 strokes. After they announced us winning, one guy from the other team came up and asked how it could happen. I just smiled and said "We were on fire." Like the commercial says, PRICELESS!!!!

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

Well, the US has won a major tourney finally. Keegan vs Jason in a 3 hole playoff to determine which American ends the drought.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

So how much does Keegan win this by? Dufner's been dropping parts for the better part of an hour now.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

If Keegan jars this put for birdie, you can say goodnight.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

Keegan should have it now. And wow, his comeback after getting the triple on 15 has been incredible.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

That might be the worst choke I've seen in a major since Van de Velde (though not as dramatic).

Well OK, Dustin Johnson did blow it pretty badly at Pebble last year.

It wasn't as bad as it looks. Bradley went birdie-birdie-par on the last three, which was one of the most difficult finishing stretches in a long time, to catch Dufner. Dufner went +2 on the last three, while bad, given those holes it could almost be expected. They both choked on 15.

It was really an awesome performance by Keegan Bradley to bounce back after triple bogeying the 15th to go down 4 strokes with 3 to play, and come back to win it.
