Dupnik is a moron. This makes it a secondary tragedy. We have a psycho go apecrap all over that political rally and then it is being investigated by a moronic sheriff whose political views are providing a potential for horrendous furtherance of political schizm within the context of this tragedy who doesn't even like the state he works for. I love the Islamic reference (mecca) put together with bigotry though.

Missed the 'speech' because I was watching hockey (and they won too :D) Came in here for an update. You guys are the best. I was laughing so hard Mr. les wanted to know what it was about.

Oops. Advanced copy of Bachmann's speech indicates she misunderstood...is going to address the state of the NHL Players' Union.

Really? How are they better than Ryan? He's chair of the Budget Committee in a time when everyone is concerned about a budget. Aside from Christie (who said no thanks), I can't really think of a better, more articulate representative of contrast between the two parties, which is kind of the point.

Now the response tonight was kind of meh, but find a recent response that wasn't?

In her defense she was making sure to look at the Tea Party Express camera. The folks who pushed her response. The other camera was for TV and that's why it was off.

I'm going to go puke now for defending her.

In his wide-ranging State of the Union address, the president urges Congress to embrace bipartisanship and 'shared responsibility,' offering suggestions to reduce federal spending, cut the deficit and work toward smaller government.

I don't think the Republican party has any dark horses.

I say go for Bachmann. If she wins, and her presidency is anything like her run as a Rep, at least we'll get her out of the country. Of course, you can forget about watching primetime TV ever again when she figures out she'll have the power to put her heavily make-upped mug on TV any time she wants.

Bachmann's handler's must be getting smarter.

Bachmann narrowly avoided a gaffe of constitutional proportions in her speech.

Excerpts released in advance called on Obama to "commit himself to signing" a constitutional amendment to balance the federal budget.

In reality the Constitution gives the president no role in amendments, which go directly to states for ratification after Congress approves them.

The thing that gets me about the right is a stated worship of the Constitution...until the second they disagree with it, then they want to change it.

Its evquivalent of evangicals interpreting the Bible in a very strict way and focusing on parts that just happen to align with their point of view...and then tell everyone else that they aren't going to heaven because they don't live their interpretation.
