Team USA--WJC

Re: Team USA--WJC

Great team win for the US. Their team was built from the crease out and defense usually beats offense. The defense was solid and played a great physical tournament. Due to that the forwards could be aggressive and put the biscuit in the basket at key time. Housely did a great job managing the team making key adjustment throughout.

Re: Team USA--WJC

Kinda surprised that this was Team USA's 3rd gold. I assumed there would have been more.

Re: Team USA--WJC

Well, that was a great way to start the day.

Gotta say, I enjoyed the 2010 tourney and team more, but it's nice to see (for USA Hockey) that they weren't a flash in the pan. This team did a great job of getting better as the tourney went on and peaking at the right time.

Did we only give up 2 goals in three medal round games? And only 9 goals in seven total games!?!:eek:

Who had Slovakia scoring the most against us with 3?

One last thought. In the past 4 tourneys, USA has 2 golds and Canada has, well, exactly, ZERO!!

Suck it Canada!

Re: Team USA--WJC

So Phil Housely, that over his head twit, did a pretty goddam good job. And John Gibson is a freaking stud.

Re: Team USA--WJC

Woot! Gold!

Saw this on twitter and nearly spit out my coffee:

Nice to see Grimaldi leading the charge in the biggest game of the tournament . Everyone knows the Sioux boys always start off slow. #RG23 - Danny Kristo

Re: Team USA--WJC

Well done boys, so very proud of all of you.

I agree with some of the comments, this team wasn't as talented as a couple of the previous incarnations, but this was much more of a team.

Can't we be friends for just a little while!?! :D

I intentionally didn't bring that game into this conversation. But of course, it is on my mind...

Re: Team USA--WJC

All the goals in the medal round were scored by college players. :)

Really big day for USA Hockey and collegiate hockey programs. I'm still humming over the win against Canada but the gold medal really sells the idea USA was the best team and Gawwwwwwwd is it saweet!

Does anyone know how many of the US players spent time with the NTDP?
