How does Genny not drop in the rankings after losing to Fredonia? Yes I know they beat Brockport and Morrisville but… You lost to a team not even receiving votes.

Didn't Oswego also lose to Fredonia? They didn't drop either.

It was clear in the Geneseo-Fredonia game that Covid had taken a toll on practice time for quite a few guys, that an injuries.

This actually helps Geneseo. The game means nothing for both teams, and for Geneseo, even if they win, it hurts their PWR.

I thought wins that hurt your PWR were supposed to be removed (or did I completely make that up). That said, if that is the case it's not very fair to Oswego that they had to play against Buffalo and hurt their PWR. If they elect not to play it, I think it should be a forfeit since it was Geneseo that caused the original postponement.

Which team cancelled?

It will lower their SOS no matter what, so in effect, they don’t gain much no matter if they win.

I’m sure it was a mutually agreed upon cancellation with the league. Nobody is going to accept a forfeit just because. Though it doesn’t matter. The result of the game makes absolutely no difference in the standings for either team and doesn’t get counted in the PWR.

Oswego and Geneseo both now have a regular season game available to be played and have this weekend off… why don’t they play each other as a regular season non-conference game?

(Yes, I know this will never happen for many, many reasons.)

Oswego would be crazy to do it. As it stands now, if they make it to the SUNYAC championship against Genny and lose they stand a good chance at a Pool C. They would make it a much tougher road to travel down if they drop another game.

Not sure how you figure. As it stands Oswego is very much on the outside looking in. St. Norbert and Wilkes are surely in. 2 of Hobart-Elmira-Babson look likely.

Correct, if the season ended right now and all the #1 seeds won their respective conferences, the 4 at-larges would be St. Norbert (5), Elmira (7), Babson (8), and Wilkes (10), with Oswego (11) being the first team out

The polls mean Jack.

Genny dropped in the PW, which is what counts, but it'll take a perfect storm of AQ BS to keep them out of the NCAA's just the same.

You and JSicedog are both correct that as it stands they stand outside, but as you noted they are the first team out.

Not sure if I'm expressing it right. "Good chance" probably was too strong a way to phrase it when I should have said "better chance". Simply, I believe Oswego stands a better chance of making it to a Pool C as their schedule is and getting help from other teams falling behind them than they would if they took up IceKnight20's idea for an impromptu non-conference game against Geneseo this weekend.

Being the first team out assumes there are NO upsets in the conference tournaments. There's usually always at least one. So, Oswego is possibly further out than first team out.

If Geneseo really wanted to play another game, they would have played the Buffalo State game. This idea of throwing in a game against Oswego is ridiculous.

This was my thinking too. Barring a crazy sequence of events, Oswego's chances are very slim if they don't win the SUNY
