No offense, but I don't get why you're so upset people don't just believe you because you typed it on an internet forum. I don't believe you just because you said it either. If you are unwilling to support your position, you don't get to be sanctimonious about people not following you blindly. It would seem that anyone fired from a Div III hockey coaching position would be public knowledge anyway... you wouldn't be outing anyone.

If it's public knowledge, go look for it yourself. And I never said anyone, to my knowledge, has been fired from a DIII hockey coaching position or just for their W/L record.

Clever.... you did say people were let go in part because of W/L record.

OK Ok who ever got fired/didn't get fired ,repeat after me. "It all RIT's fault" once again....horse beat lets get ready for some puck.....GO Lakers!!!

I get what you are saying Geneseo, I am sure some of those coaches that have resigned from programs after having multiple bad W/L records were brought in to a conference room and given the option to resign which most coaches would take because it allows them to control the narrative. Hockey isn't a cheap sport for any university so I am sure most AD's would want to have a coach that can instill a winning atmosphere to help the program become successful and allows the University to justify the cost of the program. But I am sure with all that using the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" method you can quickly sum up that IT'S ALL RIT'S FAULT. On another note, can one of the Oswego insiders tell me why they have a goalie recruit coming in? The school website shows Green and Kozikoski are JR and Parent is a SO so they all should be back next year right or am I missing something.

As far as I know Koz is academically a Senior and is graduating in May.

I have heard through my sources that Oswego is bringing in a very good goalie for next year.

As for a school justifying the costs of a program, at the D3 level, the justification doesn't have to be about winning. It can also be about non-controversary, producing a high graduation rate, etc. I really think many people misread the motivations of many D3 schools towards their sports programs. They chose D3 for a reason.

Hence why they don't get fired! I'm not sure what is meant by "motivations" if many D3 schools means?

The motivation of why D3 schools have athletic programs. The motivation isn’t necessarily success as measured on the playing field. The motivations are sometimes simply to provide students with opportunities and extracurricular activities.

Russell: I agree 100%. There are educational aspects of athletics and athletic competition that are ultimately more important than success on the playing field. The only point I tried to make is that I have seen W/L records, along with other factors, impact personnel decisions in some instances regarding coaches. You don't magically become impervious to performance evaluations as a DIII coach, especially at schools with higher profile athletic programs.

Stephen Kozikoski is graduating with honors in May. He has a job waiting for him.

Best of luck to the young man the discipline and hard work it takes to play college hockey at any level will translate into good work habits in the real world as well....Go Lakers!!

I second that. And I remember being in college and being broke, especially in my senior year. Couldn't wait to get out. (Of course, once out, I realized I should have stayed in for 10 more)

I don't think I would be alive today if I spent 10 more years at "The Shed" or Barney's or Lil's or Bucklands or Old City Hall or . . .
