Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Miami is a DYNASTY

Need I say anything else about these games this weekend?

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Wow . . . so let's see, Bemidji State is becoming a dynasty, too.

1) Long-term coaching - check
2) New home arena - check
3) Ability to recruit. I would say so, especially now (WCHA/BREC) - check
4) Staying amongst the top of their league - check
5) Contended for a national championship - check

BSU is now a dynasty :D

Let's see sho else is a dynasty, fitting the terms above? Duluth, Notre Dame, Fargo Force . . .

Yeah I would definitely say that as well. That being said Miami is a good hockey program but not a dynasty. Your team would have to win a national title or two to be called a dynasty. None-the-less, I think Miami has a first class coach that has their program going in the right direction. Apparently there a few in Oxford that are worried that the UMN athletic department are going to come calling because the UMN athletic director has a history with Blasi.

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Doesn't sound good for Genoway playing this weekend. :(
Sounds like the Sioux will be without his services for at least another couple weeks or longer.
Advantage: Miami

Thanks Marvin.

I would agree, in the past couple of years Miami has been a tough team to beat. But by this guys criteria Tech would be a dynasty, and even Tech fans know Tech sucks. :D.

P.S. gotta love the comments section.

From the Sioux blog. No Genoway, and Sioux are excited to play ex-UND player Bishop:

Today's weekly press conference was more of the same: No good news about Chay Genoway.

Coach Dave Hakstol said that we're still in the same position as we were a week and a half ago, which means Genoway is out indefinitely. That means he won't be playing in the Subway Holiday Classic. UND is 7-1-1 with Genoway and 0-3 without him.

Other than Genoway, everyone else should be available for the weekend.

I asked Darcy Zajac about seeing his former UND classmate, Hunter Bishop, on the other side of the rink on Friday night. Bishop transferred to Ohio State. Zajac said that the UND players kept in touch with him quite a bit for the first year. Since, they haven't talked much.

"He would have been a senior with me," Zajac said. "Kind of excited to play him, excited to see him.... and hopefully we can give him a loss."

As far as Thanksgiving meals go, Hakstol said that the team will just have its normal team meal Thursday night after practice. This one might have a little bit more of a Thanksgiving theme to it, though.

Bemidji State is going to travel to Grand Forks on Thursday and have Thanksgiving with the Vaaler family.

I would imagine Bishop will have no problem getting up to play the Sioux...another reason not to look past the Buckeyes...

Thanks a lot for posting that article Goon... now I have to clean the soda off of my computer screen I shot out my nose while laughing. A better title for that article would be "Mike Zoller on the brink of being a complete moron" or "ice hockey on the brink of knowing that Miami hockey isn't played in Florida. Wow, he thinks USC football is overrated as a dynasty but somehow Miami hockey is on the brink.... this is rich...:D

This is exactly why I can't stand student papers: horrible writing, no fact checking, general blind awe of a team doing well. And on top of that, articles like this make the whole university luk absolootlie stooped.

I can only hope that someone takes this article down so that we don't have to have other fans bring it up every year. Then again it gives you guys something to laugh at every year.

I never knew the Cowboys played in Dallas Stadium, or that Miami was never in contention for a national title?

Sure does. :D

But once Miami has a couple of National Titles under its belt then the article will be moot and that writer will look like a genius. :p

No, he'll still look like a dbag, the rest of us that stuck with the team that didn't proclaim us a dynasty, yet, will be the smarties. :D

Nah, I wouldn't tie that one writer to the University, we still respect MU and Blasi is a really good coach, It was pretty comical though.
