Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Since I am so wrong, please look at the first penalty of Miami-UND game and tell me again their is no option for 2 for checking from behind....
They're using a rulebook tonight from before the Bina hit?

Reading comprehension Mr. Redhawkman, reading comprehension...

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

hey mr. redhawkman10 you guys sure showed that you deserve to be #1, hahaha nice showing in the tournament:D

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Great game by Miami tonight. Fought back after being down 5-3 in the 2nd...

Sioux needed to maintain the momentum from the 2nd period by scoring the on that first PP in the 3rd. They also need to stop letting teams get back inthe game by taking penalties...

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

He's "special"....

Apparently...

Sioux wins the golden footlong club sub with a 1-0-1 weekend. All four teams could easily be in the tourney if the Bucks can get their heads right over there in Columbus. Team with a lot of talent but question marks in their effort.

Thanks it was a pretty good showing going toe to toe with one of the best teams in the country on their home ice...

First logical thing you have ever said.

Well we let you back in in the second, officials with make up calls? :D

UND played a great game, shocked it was 5-5 with how good these two are defensively but it was like a playoff atmosphere out there. I sure hope we meet again in april.

There is a reason these are the two best teams in the country, great play makers and both goaltenders made key saves.

I do have a new sympathy for WCHA fans in regards to their officiating, ouch...

Sioux also win a private signing of the $5 footlong song with special guests Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, and Jared! :D

congrats and enjoy!

Miami is a very good team. UND had this game won and the Redhawks took a tie. UND didn't give the game away, Miami took it away.

You know when your not being sarcastic you say some pretty good things! :D

Glad you enjoyed it, it was a helluva game. Knew UND would be our toughest test and they didn't dissapoint. I hope we meet again!

Good luck to you guys the rest of the way. Denver lost to SCSU tonight.

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

actually they tied twice, but good try. If you want to count the skills competition good for you.

Look at what OSU has done this year, they have underacheieved. If you have been paying attention to your own thread all year I have been supportive of you, so don't be all bitter because someone shoots it straight. I am thrilled OSU won today, its great for the conference.

Ok, fine, they tied. Still 2 games AT HOME and you are # 1 in the country and you tie Ferris State and then you come on and talk about how bad osu is for losing 2 games to them up there.

That also doesn't explain the reverse logic that you used. How does the Bemidji win over Miami mean nothing because they turned around and lost to OSU? I would think it would be the other way around for Miami--- wow we lost to Bemidji state who turned around an lost to Ohio State..... that's not good at all.

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

I had a lot of fun watching hockey this weekend. Great showing by all of the teams.

> NoDak was as advertised. They play a fun style of hockey. You've got to be happy with 3 pts
> Bemidji played well in Miami game (didn't watch the OSU-BSU game). Definitely expect to see in tournament.
> Ohio State did well as well. The game with UND was much closer than the score indicates.
> Miami played well in the loss to BSU. Great effort to comeback in both 3rd periods. It's pretty impressive to have 2 goal comebacks in the same weekend. On the flip side, Miami shouldn't have been in that position against UND. Don't get me wrong - the Sioux are a great club. But to give up 3 PP and a shorty is not a recipe for success.

Does anyone know if this is going to be the same group next year? If so, I can't wait to next year. Here's to seeing you all in the spring.

Go Hawks!

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

I just wanted to say as well that the Miami-UND game was hands down the most entertaining game so far this season. It was a great game to watch and Miami showed why they are a top-ranked team.

After watching the series against Denver and watching this game against Miami I was way more impressed by Miami's play than Denver. But don't get me wrong Denver is fielding a good team this year but Miami's is really clicking and you could easily tell with how they played this weekend and how well they've been playing so far this season.

It's just to bad that the game had to end in a tie!

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Where were you this entire week for me to make fun of?

He was waiting until his team put a decent performance out there to spout off about....now he will go into a cave for a couple weeks...its sad I like OSU and most of there fans...

Re: Subway Holiday Classic (Miami, North Dakota, tOSU, Bemidji)

Und/Miami was by far the best college hockey game I have attended. Complete playoff/championship type of game. I was only over for Saturdays games and am still wondering how BSU won on Friday against Miami. BSU didnt have any intensity and was sloppy with the puck against the bucks and would have lost by 5 goals if they played that way against the Sioux or Redhawks. It was a real shame it had to end in a tie after such a great hard fought battle. You could tell by the scraps between the 2 teams that the game meant alot to both teams. Each team wanted to make a statement to the other. Credit to all that made this tourney possible. It doesnt matter how many times I visit the ralph, I will always be in awe! That Malone goal was sick! Definate highlight material!

Highlights are on fightingsioux.com...

Malone's goal reminded me of Vanek's against UNH in the NC game. "Wait for it.....wait for it......wait for it.....GOAL!" Knapp's jockstrap is probably still somewhere at the Ralph. Right next to Edsness' after Smith's game-tying goal.

That said, I don't think Eids played very well. Not a lot of help defensively on some of them, but Camper's he definitely wants back.
