Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

That wonderful nelly queen Paul Lynde in "Bye Bye Birdie"

Here's one:

"They might as well wear raincoats."

K-19, the Widomaker.

Guard : What were you doing out there?
Staff Sergeant : Visiting a whorehouse.
Guard : Okay. If I let you back in, will you tell me where it is exactly?

The Hurt Locker(We just saw this-and I think this may be the only lines I remembered)

"I don't want to upset you too much, but at the moment you have an excellent chance of being hanged"

The Caine Mutiny

"If I've told you once, I've told you a hundred times; do not fan the girls when they're wet! But you'll never learn, you'll be a eunuch all your life."

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum (Hilarious movie with the great Zero Mostel)

I could use a little hint on this one.

This movie spawned a sequel which wasn't nearly as funny. The character who spike the line-is also a deputy in a very funny western. This may also have been the first movie to use outtakes from the film in the closing credits (which were hilarious).

Ah hah. I'm thinking Jack Elam and that wonderful roving eye in "Cannonball Run."

Here's one:

"The thing of it is, I don't give a chit. What's more... I never have."

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Oh man-I am going to need a whole lot of help here-This line doesn't even sound faguely familiar. Hoping someone else can figure this one out.:(

I'll let you all stew for a while then offer a clue later this afternoon. :)

The guy who wrote the book upon which this film is based has seen several of his novels turned into big budget films with big stars. This one is no exception.

Thanks for the hint but we are clueless. Doesn't even sound vaguely familiar.

Hmmm. This isn't an obscure film. So let me give you a clue and another quote. The clue is that in another film our speaker played a high school basketball coach. In this film he's involved in trials but not as a lawyer.
Here's the quote:

"Ah, I hate Baptists almost as much as I hate Democrats."

Obviously Gene Hackman-but from where? Neither of us can recall seeing him in anything where he made these statements. Must have been one of is few movies we missed-we have seen him in so many films. You got us on this one!

The Runaway Jury

"22 years. Man, L.A. has changed a lot during that time. The air got dirty and the sex got clean."

Point Break(I think it was a Garry Bussey line)

Actress: "What do you do with your afternoon... Sidney?"
Actor: "In London? I don't think we have afternoon."

Another Neil Simon gem, "California Suite," which for some reason, is rarely if ever on the tube (at least I never see it). I loved the line where Jane Fonda wants to know how much it would cost to "rent" a martini.

Anyway, here's another:

"There's nothing tragic about being 50, not unless you try to be 25."

Sunset Boulevard (Mr. DeMille I'm ready for my close up!!)

I hope I have this one right-another from a great movie-
"You shocking degenerate. I've seen the worst - the dregs - but you... you are the lowest. Makes me sick to breathe the same air."

Hint: This one was remade under the same title in the 90's-it was also very good and the villain in both versions of this movie was incredibly menacing!

Casino
